Your commitment to support each other, our guests, and the organization are truly appreciated. We continue to monitor resources available to support you and the organization until this situation passes. In addition to the many recently updated government assistance programs available, there are also two private funds that have been established for restaurant employees who have been impacted. The first is a relief fund that we have previously communicated. The Restaurant Employees Relief Fund (RERF) has been established by Guy Fieri and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and is providing $500 grants beginning April 2, 2020 on a first come, first served basis to eligible restaurant workers. You can learn more about the RERF at www.rerf.us. The second is a fund established by the Boston Beer Company called Restaurant Strong. Boston Beer has donated over $2,000,000 to kick off the fund, which provides grants up to $1,000 to eligible restaurant employees in these states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Vermont. We will let you know if other states are added to this list. For more information, visit www.restaurantstrong.org. More great stories from the field have been sent in to share with you all, so please allow me to highlight some of the positivity you have all created for our communities! Special thanks to Erick Salazar’s team at Buffalo Wild Wings in Normal, IL for providing lunch for the Normal Police Department (pictured left) this week. Way to take care of our first responders!

Our Sterling, IL BWW team donated food to the Radiology Department at CGH Medical Center, where Therese Candella’s sister works. Therese’s sister and team (pictured left) sent the following note: THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! My staff started crying they were so excited!!

Besides our first responders, our suppliers are also on the front lines keeping us stocked and ready to serve our guests. Gary Swanson and Team Tualatin BWW provided lunch for the local McLane’s office in Portland. From Joseph Troccoli, General Manaber at McLane’s:

Imagine our surprise when Gary, manager at our local Buffalo Wild Wings in Tualatin made a special visit yesterday to stop by and recognize our McLane Team. Buffalo Wild Wings, being the company they are, was recognizing hospitals and other service providers and Gary asked, “What about our McLane team?” When calling Gary today to thank him for bringing in lunch for our teammates he commented, “We wouldn’t be able to do anything without you guys.”

Gary went on and commented, “You guys have a great team and always take care of us, we love you guys!” It is very humbling, to have such a great partner in Gary, his team and the Buffalo Wild Wings “family”.

Keep up the great work out there! Let’s ensure that we continue to practice sound handwashing and sanitation practices, wear gloves appropriately, and keep high touch areas clean and sanitized. Maintaining our high standards on hygiene, safety, and food safety will help us to continue to keep everyone safe and our guests reassured. I must reiterate also that if you are ill or have potentially been exposed to someone who may have COVID-19, do NOT report to work. Please reach out immediately to your manager or HR in these circumstances. Be safe and take care! Tom Cook
