Customer Quality Insight Monitor Data Overview
Id:0900d80580a03cc4
1 OverviewWith advent of LTE, demand for data is growing at an exponential rate and so is the com-
plexity of network and elements handling them. It is very important for service providers
to monitor the performance of the Network and the Elements to provide sustained and
better end user experience. Customer Quality Insight Monitor Data is the tool in this
front, where monitoring of EPC elements l ike MME, PGW, and SGW is done in near real
time.
Customer Quality Insight Monitor Data uses data from Nokia Siemens Networks
Serve@Once Traffica for Flexi-NS (MME) and Flexi-NG (PGW and SGW) respectively
through Real-time Broker to Serve@Once Intelligence (SAI).
Accessibility, Retainability, and Mobility are the umbrella Key Quality Indicator (KQIs)
and are having the following KPIs under them.
Accessibility
Attach
Default Bearer Activation
Dedicated Bearer Activation
Retainability
Detach
Bearer Modification
Bearer Deactivation
Mobility
Tracking Area Update (TAU)
For more information on different KPIs, see chapter KPI Descriptions.

Figure 2 Customer Quality Insight Monitor Data Dashboard
The dashboard illustrates the following:
Y-axis(vertical axis): There are two Y-axis. Failure %and # of Subscribers
scale is shown on the left and right Y-axis respectively.
X-axis(horizontal axis): Shows the time scale. By default, last 3 hourstime
scale is shown. The time interval on X-axis is 15 minutes.
Region: By default, All regionis selected.
Legend: Color legend on the right hand side explains the color codes of various
attributes in the graph. For example, orange is the color code for Retainability.
g The dashboard widget is refreshed every 15 minutes.
There is a drop down in the Navigation panel that contains all the registered Content
packs list. Customer Quality Insight Monitor Data appears upon clicking the
Customer Quality Insight Monitor Data item.

Data
Accessibility, Retainability and Mobility umbrella KQIs can be monitored either using the
table or the map view simultaneously. Both views will provide key customer information
like Failure Rates for each KQI, Impacted Subscribers per KQI, and Overall Impact for
EPC elements MME, SGWor PGW.

different KQIs Accessibility, Retainability and Mobility along with Overall Impact.
2. Search functionality has been implemented which allows to search the specific
network element on map.
3. Zoom functionality provides the zoom-in and zoom-out functions on the map. The
same functionality can be realized using mouse.
4. The opacity of the Network Elements is based on the number of impacted subscrib-
ers.The opacity details are mentioned in the table below.
gThe Imapacted Subscribers is calculated in number.

1. Under Network Element column, the first name shows Source id and second name
shows Network Element.
2. Search box at the end of the table can be used to view the details of a specificNetwork Element. The results in different pages can be viewed by clicking on the
first, previous, next, and last buttons.
3. The number of items viewable on a page can also be set using the dropdown at the
end.
4. The details table on the right pane will list the specific KPI percentages under the
columns Impacted Subscribers in percentage, Failures in percentage, and Number
of attempts for a selected Network Element.
g By default, top 10 problematic elements details will be shown. However, it may changedepending upon the selection of Network Elements.
gThe Impacted subscribers is calculated in number.
3.3 Failure Graphs
On selecting Show Details, the drill down graphs will be shown as below.
Time filter has been introduced for failure graphs. The Time filter has the following
entries:
Last 1 Hr. (15 mins)
Last 3 Hr. (15 mins)
Last 6 Hr. (15 mins)
Last 12 Hr. (1 Hr)

3.3.1 Failure Graph Analysis
The below graph set shows the Accessibility related KPIs Attach, Default Bearer Activa-
tion, and Dedicated Bearer Activation. Each graph shows the Impacted Subscribers
Percentage, Failure rate Percentage, and Attempts in top row.
Figure 8 Failure Graph analysis
1. The left y-axis depicts the values for Impacted Subscribers and Failure rate percent-
ages, while the x-axis shows the time range as per the filter selected. The right y-
axis shows number of Attempts.
The bars on each graph shows the number of attempts, the purple line shows both
impacted subscribers in percentage and failure rate in percentage if both have same
set of values. On mouseover, tool tip for the selected bar or line graph is shown at a specific time
and is highlighted.
g By Default, the Last 1 Hr. (15 mins) time filter and All Regions region filter will beselected.
3.4 Failure types and cause code analysis
The following figure shows Failure Events Types and Failure Cause Code Analysis for
selected KPI. Upon selecting any bar on a chart, displays the same set of data for the
entire chart.

1. Further drill down from the Failure Graphs, shows different events for a KPI along
with Number of Failures and Impacted Subscribers in the table. By default the
columns are sorted by Impacted Subscribers.
2. The Cause Codes table on the right pane is available on selecting a specific event
in the failure types table. The cause code table will list reasons for failure (cause
descriptions) for an event along with Number of Impacted Subscribers.
Both the tables can be closed by clicking on the close button on the top right corner
of the pane containing them. We have the drilldown graphs, tables for all KPIs and
corresponding cause codes tables for KQIs Accessibility, Retainability, and Mobility.
To see details of newly selected element or a new time interval or region, Close Details
