INTRODUCTION TO OMRON PLC (CQM1H )

• Training kit which will be studied is from OMRON brand, model CQM1H of module types.

• A type of PLC control system and is able to control 16 input signals and 16 output signals.

• The control consists of three modules:• Power supply modules• Control modules• Output modules

FEATURES ~

• The CPU Unit provides 16 built-in input terminals.• I/O Units can be added to increase I/O capacity.• The CQM1 is much faster: about 20 times faster

than P-type PCs.• High-speed timers and counters are built in.• Outputs are processed when instructions are

executed (direct outputs).

POWER SUPPLY MODULES

• Function

• 5VDC supply voltage to the unit and output control module.

• Model• Power supply model - PA203 CQM1

• Green indicator light will be lit when the power supplied was 240VAC

CONTROL MODULES

Processing the received signal from the input (input signal) and produces a signal that has been processed to the output.

• Modules & unit• Used from model CPU 21.• Have units such as:

• Built-in input terminal, • Built-in peripheral port, • Built-in RS-232 port, • Port batteries, • Port portable memory • memory device • microprocessor

• The CQM1 is a compact, high-speed PC composed of a Power Supply Unit, a CPU Unit, and I/O Units.

• All of these Units connect at the sides to form a single PC, which is normally mounted to a DIN track.

• All CQM1 CPU Units, except for the CQM1-CPU11-E, are equipped with an RS-232C port that can be connected directly to a host computer, another CQM1, or other serial devices.

SAFETY PRECAUTION

• Do not attempt to take any unit apart while the power is being supplied.

• Do not touch any of the terminal while the power is being supplied.

• Do not attempt to disassemble, repair or modify any units.

• Tighten screws on the terminal block of the AC power supply unit to the torque specified in the manual.

• Double check the user program for proper execution before actually running it on the Unit.

CONCLUSION

• Programmable Logic Controllers, along with easy-to-use Support Software, are available to flexibly handle applications from small-scale equipment to entire production lines with Programmable Logic Controllers.

• It can be effectively used in applications ranging from simple control like replacing a small number of relays to complex automation problems.
