Create New Lesson
• To create a new lesson
package using the
Lesson Builder, there
are 2 ways :
1. Click on My Tools and
then Create Lesson.
2. Or if you are in My
Lessons, click on the
Create button.

3. Fill in the necessary Lesson
package details. (Anything in
* is a mandatory item.)
4. Click the Create Lesson
button.

has been created, you will
see the lesson folder
structure on the left.
• On the right, you will see the
resources available for you to
add to your lesson package.

Add MC Online Subject Resources
• MC Online Subject Resources are the individual tutorials, activities and/or
quizzes you can find on the My Subjects Learning Channels.

1. Click on MC Online Resources.
2. Click on Subject Resources.

3. You can search by using
either :
– Keywords
– Or clicking on the folders
and drilling down to the
particular tutorial, activity
or test/quiz.
4. The contents of the
folder selected will be
displayed on the right.

preview the resource.
6. To add the resource into
the lesson package, click

of the resource, then click

Add MC Online Subject Resources
• The subject resources is now added into your lesson package.
- You can rename or delete the resources by clicking on the green pencil icon
(edit) or the red cross mark (delete).
• Clicking Preview Lesson allows you to see what the lesson package will look like
when assigned to your student.
• Click on Return brings you back to “My Lessons”.
• To add more resources, click on the “caret” at the right-end of “Add Resource”.

Add Upload
• Using Upload resources, you can upload resources such as MS Office files,
PDFs, audio or video and images, etc into your lesson package.
• You also have the option to convert MS Office formats into a Flash-based
document so that your students can view these files in the browser. This is
useful when teachers do not want to let their students download the MS
Office files in an editable form.

1. Click Upload.
2. Click Personal Resource.

• Most types of resource can
be uploaded. Keep your
uploaded resources to less
than 5MB.

Add Youtube Video
1. Click Audio/Video.
2. Click Youtube.

3. Type in your search
phrase and then click
Search.
4. Click on the Title of
the video to preview.
5. Click Select to add
this Youtube video
into your lesson
package.

• You can to click on
Search, not press the
ENTER key after typing
the search term.

• This video will be added. It will take its title and description based on the
Youtube video. You can change both title and description by clicking on the
green pencil icon (Edit).
• Click Preview Lesson to view it from the student’s perspective or click
Return to save and end your Lesson Builder session.

Add Assessment Tools
• In Assessment Tools, you can insert existing Tests or Oral Buddies (created
by MC Online) into your lesson package. You can also create your own Tests
or Oral Buddies or Survey & Poll.

1. Click Assessment Tools.
2. Click Test.

3. To use MC Online’s
created Test, click on
Test Bank.
4. Drill down the respective
folders to find the Test
you want to include. (eg.
Primary 3, Science)
5. As you click on the
respective folders, the
test titles listed on the
right will change to list
the resources available.

test to preview it.
7. Click on the checkbox
next to the title to select
the test you wish to add
to your lesson package.
8. Click the Add button.

9. Click Return to Lesson

Add Test – From My Test
• To add tests you have created, click My Test.
• Follow Steps 4 – 9 in the previous slides.
Note
• Tests from the MC Online Test Bank can be Flash-based or HTML-based.
Flash-based resource requires that Adobe Flash player be installed in your
computer.

Other Tools – Edit Lesson Settings
• If the details of your
lesson package need to
be changed, you can do
this by using Edit
Lesson Settings.
• In the lesson setting
above, the subject
should be “Science”
instead of “General”.

Other Tools – Edit Lesson Settings
1. Go back to the lesson
package you are going to
edit. (My Lessons > Select
your Lesson > Click Edit).
2. Click on the Gear icon in
Lesson Folder(s) on the left
side of the Lesson Builder.

3. Click on the Subject field.
4. From the drop-down list,
choose the correct subject.
5. Click on Update Settings to
save the changes.
6. When you preview the lesson
package, the lesson should
now show the correct subject
and the lesson will be listed
under “Science” instead of
“General”.

Other Tools – Delete a resource
1. To delete a resource, select the resource by clicking on its checkbox.
2. Click on the RED X on the right of the resource.

Other Tools – Delete multiple resources
1. To delete multiple resources, select the resources by clicking on the
checkboxes.
2. Click on the Delete button under the Add Resource row.
Note
• There is no “Trash” or “Recycle Bin” to under the delete. You will have to add
the resource into your lesson package again via Add Resource.

Other Tools – Rename a resource
1. To rename a resource, select the resource.
2. Click on the green pencil icon.
3. Rename the resource, and click Save Changes.

• You can only rename one resource at a time.

Other Tools – Reorder your resources
1. To reorder your resources, click and select a number from the drop-down list.
2. If you have multiple folders, you can reorder the folders by clicking and
selecting a number from the drop-down list next to the folder’s title.
