some of Easter Island’s past origins and histories.
Here in this Powerpoint we will look at some of characteristics that define the culture and society of Easter Island today.
PopulationToday, more than 4000
islanders call Easter Island home.
These islanders have Chilean citizenship.
The culture here is a mixture of the tribal Polynesian Rapanui and modern South American characteristics.

GeographyEaster Island is a territory
of Chile.It lies 2,180 miles of the
coast of Chile in the Pacific Ocean. The entire Island is also only 63 square miles.
Easter Island is made up of three extinct volcanoes.

CultureAside from it’s interesting
histories, Easter Island is a location that thrives off of tourism.
It’s official languages are Spanish and Rapa Nui.
The Rapanui have a festival each year to celebrate their culture called the Tapati.
They also have their own national football(soccer) team called CF Rapa Nui.
