An Overview of Oki Town• Small agricultural town located in
Fukuoka Prefecture
• About 14,500 people and 4,300 households in 2010

• When SWM identified as an environmental issue in 1995, due to insufficient capacity in treatment pants and high operational cost, solid waste was incinerated and human waste and sludge from gseptic tanks was dumped at sea
