Writing the Announcement
Be Brief! (no more than one paragraph)Join Diana for a workshop discussing the benefits of bacon. The English bacon tradition dates back to the Saxon era in the 1st millennium AD though it was not available commercially until the late 1770s when John Harris in Wiltshire began a commercial processing plant. Bacon, sometimes referred to as gammon or a rasher has seen a rise in popularity in recent years.
Bacon is usually cured or smoked and different flavors can be created through this process. During this workshop, Diana will explain how bacon has made its way back to popularity despite environmental and health concerns, discuss how you can incorporate bacon into your diet daily and moderate a healthy debate on traditional bacon v turkey and vegetarian bacon options.
The class will end on a fun note with bacon-filled recipes and an exploration of bacon in popular culture from current memes and uses in our lexicon to International Bacon Day.
The end of the session will include time for sharing your bacon antidote and a Q&A period with avid bacon lover, Diana.
Join in for a fun-filled workshop on the rise of popularity of bacon as we explore:
• The History of Bacon
• Popular Bacon Recipes
• The Dark side of bacon – environmental and health impacts
As an attendee, you will receive cooking and health tips for incorporating bacon into your life.
