This is known as Physical

Security Information Management (PSIM).

PSIM identifies a category of products that integrates an organisation’s disparate security devices and business systems into a single, user-friendly interface. These systems can identify, verify and help to resolve security and emergency situations

in real time. PSIM systems link together global command centres with a mobile field workforce to lower the costs of operation, enable security personnel to respond more quickly to incidents, effectively enforce security policies and ultimately improve the protection of people and assets.

Our Solutions At Work

// Office complex

At 126 metres tall, this prestigious office complex is the tallest building in Switzerland. Tyco provided an integrated facility and safety management solution to protect the building’s people and property.

Tyco developed a scalable and flexible architecture that adapts to the needs of the building’s tenants, enabling easy and long-term control over the systems that are integral to the building including access control, video surveillance, fire alarms, emergency lighting and public evacuation. This solid foundation allows individual tenants to focus on their core business, knowing that their safety and security is well looked after.

// Offshore wind farm

This offshore wind farm stands 100 km from the German island of Helgoland in the North Sea. Tyco developed a highly specialised fire protection solution to help safeguard the offshore platform. The holistic safety approach that Tyco took comprised the design, planning, approval process and implementation of the technology.

Tyco’s development of the security systems for the platform has helped ensure that a valuable contribution is being made to sustainable energy initiatives. In 2013, the wind farm will produce enough power to meet the needs of 400,000 households.

// Fashion retailer

A young and rapidly growing Italian fash-ion retailer chose Tyco retail solutions to combat theft and improve the perfor-mance of its 32 stores situated across Europe. The retail group implemented a chain-wide roll out of Sensormatic, Tyco’s industry-leading Electronic Article Surveillance system. As a result the retailer has significantly reduced shrinkage while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of its stores.

The retailer also utilises Tyco’s Visual Source Tagging initiative to increase security throughout the supply chain. Tags are applied to garments at the point of manufacture and arrive in-store ready for display; improving the productivity of store staff who are able to spend more time with customers.
