Creation of Our Film Logo

Michael Hutchinson

To create to logo we used a programme called ‘Adobe Photoshop CS5’ which is a graphics editing program developed a published by ‘Adobe Systems Incorporated’. During the creation of the logo we brainstormed ideas of what to include in our film logo. We came to the conclusion that we would have to include a mountain to set the scene for our opening sequence. We choose a picture of the Matterhorn as is a famous mountain which many people are familiar with.

When adding the image of the Matterhorn we decided to change the colour of the image to red. To do this we added a circular gradient using the colours red and black to make the mountain appear red. We also added a multiply effect in the layer properties.

It was hard to choose a suitable font for our logo and this decision was very hard to make as they were chosen based on their appearance and suitability for the logo. We finally came to the decision to use the font ‘Existence (TT)’. The reason for this as it was not a font that not many people have heard of or used before making it unique and unusual.

Here you can see the final logo finished in ‘Photoshop’ after we have put all the layers together. In my opinion I feel that the logo turned out exactly how we had planned and looks very professional suiting out film perfectly.
