The Pixar animation logo uses a plain, bold, black font for the text to allow it to stand out clearly and easily. The text stands out well against the light blue

background which compliments the logo, instead of making a harsh tone. The ‘I’ in Pixar creates character for the logo; by using a lamp instead of text. The bulb of the eye shows the dot on the ‘i’ but allows description to the logo, by

creating a shadow and glow underneath the letter – which creates a faint outline to underline a few of the letters; this image demonstrates the

‘animation’ of the production and makes the logo easily recognisible. Furthermore, the small text ‘animation studios’ gives clarification to the

production company without taking attention away from the important name ‘Pixar’.

This logo has a lot of detail and uses a big image to make up half of it. The image of the old fashioned camera stands to the side of the text, so that it

doesn’t take away from the title but also allows the film strip to run behind the first word ‘creature’ in the logo; the use of the image of the camera helps

make sense of the film strip. The word ‘creature’ is placed in the spaces of the film strip with a light, black text – the text is light to blend into the strip yet

black, to allow it to stand out against the white background. Also, the ‘production INC.’ is written underneath the film strip but inline with the

camera, so as to not run over it. A different font is used to stand out against the main name ‘creature’ and show its purpose as a production company. The

whole logo is in black and white to blend in together and show their relation/connection.

This logo uses a descriptive background that blends in and add detail to the logo text. The background shows a golden and blue background with rich,

gold buildings standing around it; this shows the expensive, great production company it represents. The text ’20th Century Fox Television’ is shown within the background, as a building. It is in a gold text, to relate to the background and smaller buildings whilst adding a boldness to the logo. Furthermore, the

text is shown as a building, representing a firm company. There are lights lighting up a bit of the sky around the text; making the building seem

important and highlight it – the whole design of this logo is very intricate and memorable.

I gave the production the name ‘fantasy pictures’ to show the type of films it creates; relating to the supernatural nature of our trailer, I created this logo

with a plain colour scheme of black font with a white background. The ‘F’ in fantasy was made big enough to coincide with the word ‘pictures’ on the

second line, the F is given a slightly more detailed font – to show its importance and draw attention to the logo. Also, the word ‘pictures’ is a little

spaced out in a slightly less bold text from ‘fantasy’ to show its less importance.

I used a different name for this production company called ‘E C E productions’; I came up with this by using the first letter from each of our

names in our group. To show the company’s relation to films I used the image of a film strip and changed the letters ‘E C E’ within them to connect the two.

I used the name ‘production’ instead of pictures in this one as I thought it sounds more professional. I placed this word underneath the film strip,

centralised with the letters equally spaced to take up more room and stand out equally against the film strip.
