The Dynamic Millivolt Drop Tester (DMVT100) is an accessory, used with AutoScan/CBScan series of
circuit breaker test systems. DMVT is used to measure the dynamic contact resistance and plot a
dynamic contact resistance curve (DCRM signature) against time, which helps to monitor the
condition of the contacts without opening the interrupter. A test current of 100A DC is injected into the
contact and the dynamic value of the circuit breaker contact resistance is measured, when the
Breaker is performing a C-O operation. DMVT100 is used essentially to test the MV and EHV Circuit
Breakers with insertion type of contacts.
Measurements
Ÿ Quick performance check of circuit breaker by measuring the dynamic behavior of contacts.
Ÿ Correlation of DCRM with travel characteristic using customized travel transducers and fixtures
Ÿ Recording of DCRM signature of a single interrupter at a time
Ÿ Independent, isolated, inbuilt 100 A DC source
for single interrupter.
Ÿ When DCRM signature is correlated with travel curve, the health of main and arcing contacts can be ascertained and wear and tear of arcing contacts can be estimated
Ÿ Health of the damping mechanism is also monitored
Features
Ÿ 100 A DC current injection through battery with inbuilt charger
Ÿ Recording of DCRM signature of a contact by four-wire method which ensures high accuracy and repeatability
Ÿ Quick performance check of circuit breaker by taking a C-O operation on the breaker with time resolution in micro-seconds and selectable delay between multiple operations
Ÿ Supplied with test lead set suitable for EHV circuit breakers having quick-fit connectors
Ÿ Housed in a robust carrying case that can be connected to an existing AutoScan/CBScan series of circuit breaker test systems
Ÿ Easy-to-use, high level graphical user interface and programmable test plans help to create a test setup library
Ÿ Dynamic calculations with cursor movement to help in on-screen analysis
Ÿ Automatic creation of folder structure for storage of test data
Ÿ Crest Technology also provides an upgrade for existing Windows-based AutoScan/CBScan test software of earlier versions, to allow analysis of DCRM signatures
Portable Dynamic Contact Resistance Meter
