Meet a child from Schuyler
Inn
by Joyce Karl
Today a new girl came into Kid’s
Club – her name doesn’t matter.
She is in 6th grade so she isprobably 10-11 years old. She is
happy, bright – cheerful. They
moved into the homeless shelter
the day after Christmas. She
asked what gifts I got for
Christmas. I told her of a new
bathroom rug I received all soft
and fluffy for when you get out of
the tub or shower. She said that
sounds really nice. I then asked
what she got as a present. She
said she got a can of play dough,
and at first she was disappointed
but then she realized she could
make all different things and make
new things every day. She was so
cheerful and happy over this canof play dough – it made my heart
break. It is not the gift we
receive it is how it is perceived.

Ash Wednesday
Worship
February 10
7:30 PM
You are dust, and to dust you will return.
This ancient formula will be heard by
millions of Christians all over the world
this Ash Wednesday as the sign of the
cross is made with ashes on their
forehead. This symbolic act is both a
solemn reminder and an invitation to
renewal. All are welcome as we begin
together the sacred walk towards Easter.
Reflections of Life calendar goes

This is Mahamaou from Mali. He received oneof our Reflections of Life calendars from LynneOgren, Bill and Carolyn Ogren’s daughter.Lynne worked with Mahamaou when he studiedin Albany for two years through the FullbrightExchange. Mahamadou loves his calendar! Hesaid both he and his wife want it. She wants itfor home and he wants it for his office.
You will be glorifying God through your generous gifts.
For your generosity to them will prove that you are
obedient to the Good News of Christ. 2 Corinthians
