The countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun and from decking the halls with dazzling decorations to getting gifted and hunting out heavenly haute couture, there’s no better place to be than Crossgates. And with plenty of exciting events and promotions in the pipeline, it’s a great time to pay us a visit.
Over recent months we’ve welcomed several new retailers into the centre, including Roman who opened their doors in September. With an array of design-led formal and casual women’s clothing, there’s no better place to visit for trend-setting fashions at affordable prices. As well as a core range that includes daywear, eveningwear, outerwear and special occasion clothing, they also stock a comprehensive range of bespoke accessories.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Thorntons pop up shop is in the centre until 23rd December. With a selection of dark, white and milk chocolate treats, it’s the perfect place for some great gift ideas. And, what’s more, there’s various 3-4-2 offers and 50% off selected products! Cielo also arrived at the beginning of December and offers a selection of hot and cold drinks and tasty treats… the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after a hard day’s shopping!

With plenty of enchanting events and sparkling activities lined up at Crossgates, we’re sure to add some sparkle to your Christmas holidays.
As well as exciting additions to our retail mix, we continue to host various events and community activities at Crossgates. On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December we welcomed Santa Claus and his entertaining elves! They provided plenty of festive fun and seasonal shenanigans and there was also the chance for little ones to enter the Santa Selfie Booth to be snapped alongside the jolly fellow himself.
The pictures could be taken home to keep and have also been uploaded to our Facebook page, where followers can vote for their favourite. The owner of the winning picture will bag £100 to spend at the centre! Alongside this, we’ve also been giving shoppers the chance to win one of seven £25 prizes each day from 8th to 15th December!
We are always keen to hear from our shoppers, so if you have any feedback regarding improvements you’d like to see at the centre or any projects with which you’d like us to get involved, please get in touch. Method:
1: To make the pastry, rub the cold, diced butter into the plain flour. Mix in the golden caster sugar and add a pinch of salt. Combine the pastry into a ball and knead it briefly, the dough will be fairly firm. You can use it immediately or chill for use later.
2: Preheat the oven to 200°C/Gas Mark 6/180C. Line 18 holes of two 12-hole bun tins by pressing small sized balls of pastry into each hole. Spoon 280g of mincemeat into the pies.
3: Take slightly smaller balls of pastry and pat them out between your hands to make round lids, big enough to cover the pies. Press the edges gently together to seal. The pies can be frozen for up to one month.
4: Beat 1 small egg and brush the tops of the pies. Bake for 20 minutes until golden. Leave to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then put them all onto a wire rack. Serve lightly dusted with icing sugar.
