A chime will sound and the safety beltlight ( ) will be illuminated and flashfor several seconds when the ignitionkey is turned to Run or Start, or at any time the vehicle is running, and thedriver’s safety belt is not buckled.If your vehicle is equipped with the pas-senger sensing system, the chime willsound and a message will be displayedon the Driver Information Center for several seconds if the passenger’s safety belt is not buckled under thesame conditions.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

This feature allows you to heat the frontseatbacks and seat cushions simultane-ously or just the seatbacks. The controlsare located on the driver and front pas-senger door panels.Select a heat setting for both theseatback and seat cushion• Press and release the horizontal

button (“A” above) until the indicatorlight shows the desired setting.

Select a heat setting for the seatbackonly• Press and release the vertical button

(“B” above) until the indicator lightshows the desired setting.

The safety belt is designed to lock dur-ing an accident, but it will also lock if it ispulled out all the way during initial buck-ling, and you may be unaware that thishas happened. If the safety belt doeslock, unbuckle it and allow it to retractfully; then pull it out and re-buckle thebelt.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Controls for the dimming feature, as wellas OnStar® (if equipped) and the com-pass and temperature displays, arelocated on the bottom of the mirror.When on, the automatic interior dimmingrearview mirror automatically dims to theproper level to minimize glare from lightsbehind you when it’s dark outside.

Turn the self-dimming function on or off• Press and hold for approximately

eight seconds. Use the OnStar Communications system • Press to connect to an OnStar®

Advisor.• Press or (depending on vehi-

cle equipment) to answer or end acall from the OnStar® Center.

• Press in an emergency to connectto an OnStar® Advisor who can con-tact the nearest emergency servicesprovider.

Automatic Climate ControlSystem (if equipped)

Adjust settings for automatic operation• Push the AUTO button (“A” above)

and adjust the temperature knob (“B”above) to the desired temperature.

When automatic operation is active, thesystem will control the inside tempera-ture, air delivery, air inlet and fan speed.Set same temperature for driver andfront passenger • Press and hold the AUTO button for

four seconds.• Turn the passenger-side temperature

knob to select a different temperaturefor the passenger.

Turn the outside temperature displaysand compass readings on or off• Press .Display temperature• Press and hold for four seconds

(until the display blinks) to togglebetween °C and °F. Once the desired°C or °F is displayed, release thebutton. Wait four seconds and thetemperature will be displayed.

Six-Disc CD Changer (if equipped)Loading/UnloadingQuick Load• Press LOAD (“A” above) for approxi-

mately three seconds. The lowestavailable number will flash.

• Wait for amber lights to flash onsides of slot (“B” above) before insert-ing CD. The next available numberwill flash and accept another CD untilall are occupied.

• To exit Quick Load, press either anumber with a CD in it or LOAD.

Quick Unload• Press EJECT ( ) for approx-

imately three seconds; all CDs willeject from highest number to lowest.

• Press AUTO EQ or AUTO TONE (as applicable to your radio) to selectthe equalization that best suits thetype of station selected.

• Press and hold one of the six num-bered buttons until a beep sounds;release the button.

• Repeat these steps for each stationpreset, using a different numberedbutton for each station.

Access one of the two available XMSatellite Radio bands (if equipped) • Press the BAND button until XM1 or

XM2 appears on the display. (Note:Requires subscription to XM Radio.)

until the correct minute appears onthe display.

Set the time on radios with a RadioData System (RDS)Your radio may have a button marked“H” or “HR” to represent hours and an“M” or “MIN” to represent minutes.• Press and hold the hour button until

Rear Seat Entertainment System(if equipped)

Load 1 CD• Press LOAD; all available numbers

will flash amber. • Select the number desired.• Wait for amber lights to flash on

sides of slot before inserting CD.• Insert CD.• Repeat to load more CDs.Unload 1 CD• Press EJECT ( ).• Press number for CD desired.Play a CD• Option 1: Select the number for the

CD desired (wait eight seconds).• Option 2: Press 5/SIDE button on

radio face to scroll through CDs.Select CD Track• Option 1: PREV/NEXT on radio.• Option 2: SEEK arrows on radio.• Option 3: SEEK arrows on steering

wheel.

The DVD Rear Seat Entertainment(RSE) system includes a DVD playerand a video display screen, located inthe overhead console, two sets of wire-less headphones and a remote control.To play a DVD:• The ignition must be in the Run or

Accessory position, or RAP (RetainedAccessory Power, available after theignition is turned off) must be active.

• Push forward on the release latch tofold down the video screen.

• Insert a DVD into the loading slot; it will automatically start.

• If a DVD is already loaded, press thePlay/Pause button.

• Press the CD/AUX button on theradio until RSE appears on the radiodisplay to listen to the DVD throughyour vehicle speakers.

• When using the wireless head-phones, turn the headphones on andadjust the volume using the volumeknob.

To stop or eject a DVD:• To stop playing a DVD, press the

Stop button. Press the Play button toresume viewing. If the Stop button ispressed twice, the DVD will resumeviewing at the beginning.

• To eject a DVD, press the eject but-ton on the DVD player.

HomeLink® Transmitter (if equipped)

Program HomeLink1. Determine which of the three chan-

nels (buttons) you want to program:garage door opener, gate opener,entry door locks or other.

2. Press and hold the desired HomeLinkbutton through step 3.

3. When the HomeLink light blinks slowly (within 30 seconds), hold yourtransmitter/opener 1" to 3" away fromthe HomeLink buttons. Then holdyour transmitter button on until theHomeLink light flashes rapidly (up to90 seconds). The process is nowcomplete.

Note: If your transmitter has a “rollingcode” feature, the above process maynot work. Please refer to your OwnerManual or contact HomeLink at1-800-355-3515 (www.homelink.com).

Sunroof (if equipped)

To open and close the power slidingsunroof, the ignition must be on orRetained Accessory Power (RAP) mustbe active. The sunroof button used tooperate the sunroof is located in thefront overhead console.

Express Vent:• Press and release the rear side of the

Sunroof button to express vent the glass panel.

Express Open:• Once the sunroof is in the vent

position, press and release the rear side of the Sunroof button to express open the glass panel. Push up on thesunshade and allow it to roll rear-ward. This can be done before or after the glass panel is opened.

Close:• Press and hold the front side of the

Sunroof button to close the glass panel. The sunshade must be pulled forward manually.

Cruise Control (if equipped)

Cruise control allows you to maintain aconstant speed of 25 mph or more with-out keeping your foot on the acceleratorpedal.

Setting Cruise Control:1. Move the cruise control switch to on

( ).2. Attain the speed you want to

cruise at.3. Press in the Set button ( ) at the end of the multifunction lever on the left side of the steering column.4. Take your foot off the accelerator

pedal.5. The cruise symbol on the instrument

cluster will illuminate.There are two ways to increase speedwhile cruising:

Power Folding Mirrors (if equipped)

Fold mirrors• Move the

selector switchlocated abovethe mirror con-trol (“A” right)to the centerposition.

• Press the rightside of thefour-way control pad (“B” above) to fold themirrors in.

• Press the left side of the four-waycontrol pad to fold the mirrors out.

If the mirrors have been folded manual-ly, they must be moved through thepower folding cycle three times to resetthem in their tracks.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

• Use the accelerator pedal to get to a higher speed. Press at the end of the multifunction lever to set the cruising speed. Release the accelera-tor pedal.

• Press the resume/accelerate switch (+) to get to a higher speed, and thenrelease the switch.

To reduce speed while cruising:• Press and hold at the end of the

multifunction lever until you reach thedesired lower speed, and then release it.

Automatic Headlamp Controls

Turn off Daytime Running Lamps(DRL) and automatic headlamps• Turn the exterior lamps knob (located

to the left of the steering wheel) toOFF ( ) and release.

Power Camper-Type Mirrors (if equipped)

Extend or retract mirrors• Move the selector switch located

above the mirror control to the centerposition (as shown under PowerFolding Mirrors on previous page).

• Press the left side of the four-waycontrol pad to extend mirrors.

• Press the right side of the four-waycontrol pad to retract mirrors.

See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Activate the automatic headlamp system• Turn the exterior lamps knob to

AUTO. The automatic headlamp sys-tem will turn on the front and rearlamps.

Illuminate the parking lamps, side-marker lamps, taillamps, instrumentpanel/radio lights, license plate lampsand roof marker lamps (if equipped)• Turn the exterior lamps knob to the

parking lamp position ( ).Manually activate the headlamps, allexterior tail/side-marker lamps andthe instrument panel/radio lights• Turn the exterior lamps knob to this

position ( ). Turn the fog lamps (if equipped) on or off• Press the fog lamp

button located onthe left side of the instrument panel.An indicator lampwill illuminate whenthe fog lamps are on.

Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

Disable the DRL when idling• Shift the vehicle into Park, or• Set the parking brake (manual

transmission only)See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Content Theft-Deterrent System(if equipped)

Arm the System• Lock the doors using the power door

lock switch or the Keyless EntrySystem transmitter. The alarm is activated when the symbol shownabove illuminates in the instrumentpanel (approximately 30 seconds).

If your vehicle is equipped with a DriverInformation Center, you can program thealarm to the following:• Both Horn/Headlamps • Horn only• Lamps only• Off

Odometer/Trip Settings (if equipped)

Press the trip information button toscroll through the Odometer, Trip A, Trip B, Tire Pressures, Timer andEngine Hours choices on the DriverInformation Center.

OdometerThis mode shows the total distance thevehicle has been driven in either milesor kilometers. Pressing the reset stemlocated on the instrument cluster withthe vehicle off will also display theodometer.Trip AThis mode shows the current distancetraveled since the last reset for TRIP Ain either miles or kilometers.Trip BThis mode shows the current distancetraveled since the last reset for TRIP Bin either miles or kilometers.Reset Trip InformationTo reset TRIP A or TRIP B information,press and hold the Select button ( )for one second while in one of the tripmodes. This will reset the information forTRIP A or TRIP B. You can also resetTRIP A or TRIP B while they are displayed by pressing the reset stem on

the cluster. If you press and hold thereset stem or for four seconds, thedisplay will show the distance traveledsince the last ignition cycle for TRIP A orTRIP B.TimerThe DIC can be used as a timer. Press

while TIMER is displayed to startthe timer. The display will show the amount of time that haspassed since the timer was last reset,not including time the ignition is off, upto 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds(99:59:59).Engine HoursThis mode shows the total number ofhours the engine has run. Engine Oil LifeThis mode shows the percentage of oillife left until it is recommended tochange the engine oil.
