Am I saying what I think I’m saying?

Me & We is a solution for relationship tracking that tracks biometric as well as speech information to provide users with a “mirror” that gives them a “reflection” of their com-munication practices.

Me & We is a combined wearable device and virtual personal assistant. The first tracks your biometric data: heart rate, and activity. The second is a listening tool that resides in a smart device. The software listens to your speech and makes note of important com-munication metrics: tone of voice, speed, content, decibel, etc.

Me & We then combines this data to give you a robust picture of how you are commu-nicating with others. It also shows you the level of your communication over time and, when paired with data from another user, shows an easy to understand visualization of the state of communication of the relationship.





Me & We would be particularly attractive to couples as a way to encourage effective communication. Each member of the couple is self-aware and open to the idea that be-ing an effective partner means being an effective person. This is someone who already has a discipline of self betterment.

Of course, Me & We would not only be attractive to couples, but many other kinds of relationships as well. There has great potential for this solution to enhance familial and business communications - particularly with partners or close associates.

There is an explosion of wearables that track our activity, but physical wellbeing is only one part of a healthy individual. We see a need for feedback about how we interact with others that in turn is a reflection of who we are.

Miscommunication is the leading reason cited by former couples as to why they split up. Not all relationships are meant to last, but they can still be learning experiences. Me & We would provide information that would be helpful for each person to have going forward as they enter new relationships.

In the near future, new technology - smarter more robust personal assistants - will act more like electricity than the limited functionality they have now. A “global brain.” Siri and Cortana are only the beginning.

IS IT OKAY TO CALL?This is the solution that you had suggested. It is a wearable that tracks your emotional and physical state to give you warnings before you make a phone call. It would prevent you from talking to your girlfriend or boss if you were in an

emotionally distraught state (upset, angry, sad).

Alternatively, it could give you a warning about someone else’s state when they call you so you can adjust your tem-perament accordingly. Hopefully, this information will prevent miscommunication that could spiral into a fight

times to get the likely desired response. It’s a way to try a conversation out before it happens for real.

The gathered data could also be crowdsourced so you could get other peoples opinions.

CUPID’S LASERA solution for singles in a public space. If a girl sees a guy that she likes she can shoot him with a device. The “shot” will show up like digital ink on the person’s shirt. It would be a fun way to break the ice and

This could also be a new way for people to “peacock.” People could visually indicate who they think looks interesting/hot in a bar.

Digital Courtship : Future of Intimacy_ Sketches

Nicole and I spent few weeks to nail

down our final design before we go to

our seamtress. It was our first time to be a

fashion designer for women so we tried to

get as many crit as possible from various

fields.



- The reason for having a ring around the neck is

because of haptic feedback technology.

- First, we were focusing on tulip style skirt for pocket

to storing cell phone, but we found out different ways

to put discreet pocket instead of keeping tulip style

design.

We have reasons for our design .

Our design got shift few times because we

were having trouble with making decision

with design. However after getting crit from

Justin, we could get a clear mind about

which direction we should go forward.

_ Tape Drawing



- We reminded ourself that HTC pursue beauty

through simplicity and also 2020 is not that far away.

Our previous designs before final design had too

much going on in one surface. We tried to be simple

as we can to keep the elegant feeling and also fol-

low HTC design language.

We tried to go back .


_ Mock up

We discovered that because of the prop-erties of fabric, we needed to add seams and darts to go around the compound curves of the human body, most particu-larly around the bust line.

We investicated different ways to create a division along the right bustline that would fit with our main aesthetic “swoosh.”

1. Simple dart: We started with a very simple diagonal bustline dart, but be-cause it looked like it was slashing right through our “swoosh” we wanted to change it.

2. Princess line: We created a diagonal princess line so that it would line up with the diagonal swoosh line. However, in side profile it looked like it bisected the swoosh, so we scrapped it.

3. Long dart: We went with this modified long dart in order to echo the swoosh.


_ Mock up

Bias cut disaster: It turned out that the long seam of the dart interfered with the bias stretch-ing of the rest of the dress, cre-ating an unsightly pucker instead of the fluid drape

Curving French dart: We went with symmetrical curved darts with a minimal intersection of fabric in order to avoid interfer-ence with the bias cut draping.

_ Shoes sketches

The preliminary shoe sketch designs for the male fashion shoe.

We investigated many different styles that we observed were popular at the club, but

ultimately we decided that a low profile, slim shoe had the most universal appeal.


_ Tape drawing on lasts

We found a shoe last shape close to a European profile that we liked.

Here are preliminary tape-drawing mockups on a shoe last to investigate shapes of potential closures.

The first round of mockups using felt and using foam drawer liner.

Masking tape mockups to adjust the design.

The toe box area became longer and skinnier to fit with an Italian dress shoe profile.

Transferring the pattern to leather.


_ Final production

Testing EL sheet, then adding the EL sheet to the final.
