• Monday – 3 to 5:50• Monday – 6 to 7:50
– Will use materials from Fall term (no chat activity)– All communications with students – weekly basis

• Getting started– 1st lab on 1/11 (2 sections)– Send out introductory communication to students – prior to 1/4
• Dave will supply global email address as soon as it is prepared
• No pre lab 1 quizlet
– Work with Yuan to get Lab 1 materials to course site– Work with Mark to prepare:
• Quiz 0 – to be conducted in class during lab 1
• Quiz 1 – to be released on Friday, 1/15 through Wednesday, 1/20
– LC and Dave will prepare bbVista site– Dave will set up class and student roster on MapleTA

• WIKI management– Please set up folders for cs122 (Winter) and cs121 (Fall)
• No need to store materials for cs121, since we are using same materials as in Fall term
• Chat and quiz slides (hints) management – cs122– Dr. Char and I are still considering nature of chat sessions – same as in
Fall (2 nightly 1 hour on-line meetings) versus no on-line meetings• Tim can guide you through the chat setup and execution process if we
decide to continue the sessions
– Regardless, you will need to develop Powerpoint slides with hints for solving 1 or 2 of the more challenging quiz problems
• Quizzes will be created (and problems identified) during lab weeks (even – starting week of 1/11)
• Slide development will follow – plan is to publish over that weekend

• bbVista site management – cs121 and cs122– Same tasks as for Fall session– Both sites should be set up and available by 1/04
• Remember to create drop boxes for labs• Dave will review once setup in complete
– Dave will continue to handle grade book aspects • Quiz and exam score import• Column setup and final grade calculations
• Lecture note prep– Needs to be completed by Friday before lab weeks (eg. 1st set of notes
to be published by 1/08 for use during week of 1/11– Dr. Char will develop lab materials and Dave will then create a hand
written draft of lecture notes– Your job is to create the Powerpoint version of the slides along with a
Maple worksheet for the demo portion described in the notes (see Patrick’s cs121 Lab 4 Maple demo in the WIKI and on course site)

– This is a new endeavor. It’s intended to provide some additional contact for students who “struggled” in cs121 in the Fall and / or are having learning issues in cs122.
– Details have not been developed yet. Dr. Char and I will be looking for you to create the structure and content for this activity.
– Please begin to think about your ideas and let’s plan to meet during the week of 1/04 to define and communicate the format.

– Quiz 0 needed for 1/11 lecture– Quiz 1 (same as in Fall) needed for release on 11/12 or later (Patrick to
determine)
