Case Study #1: Emesco Marine Terminals – Chicago, IL

The Situation:•Large order of steel coils needed to be “canned” to ship to a customer in China•Restrictive time constraints almost lost our customer the order

The Plan & Results:•Staff Source negotiated the temporary lease of the steel mills warehouse facility and overhead cranes. •Employing and deploying :• 6 production managers• 60 inspectors & production workers • 15 forklift drivers• 6 crane operators • staff of 6 data entry clerks

All deployed in less than 72 hours. The team worked 24/7 for 60 days straight. The order was successfully filled and shipped ahead of deadline.

The shipment marked the largest coil export in the history of North America.

Case #2: Lear Seating Corporation – Hammond, IN

The Situation:•Lear Seating Corporation was adding a new vehicle line to its business •Our customer lacked the availability of plant space to perform the additional work

The Plan & Results:•Decided to outsource the receiving and shipping of the fabric and leather parts (trim) used in the assembly of the seats•Seven Trucks from Mexico were being received by Lear each week with extensive “air space” due the way parts were being shipped •Determined CSG could receive shipments in “bulk” and eliminate “air space”•CSG purchased a warehouse and freed up 25,000sf of Lear’s plant space•Staff Source deployed a talented workforce of material handlers and order pickers•Improved Lear’s productivity•Reduced the number of trucks being received from 7 to 3 per week The business model was so well received it was implemented by multiple Lear plants internationally.

Case Study #3: Johnson Controls (JCI) – Milwaukee, WIThe Situation:•Ford Motor Company identified an issue with a “noisy motor” related to the operation of seats in the Ford Taurus•Johnson Controls, was issued a Quality Notice (QN) and required to institute immediate containment

The Plan & Results:•CSG was contracted to support the containment effort and inspect each seat track motor for the concern•CSG engaged the assistance of its IT team and developed a scanning system which reported findings of each test in Real Time (without the need for intermittent data entry) and expedited the process.

JCI was kept current on all findings, the containment process efficiency improved by 30%, and JCI was approved to be released from containment 30 days earlier than expected.
