2011010000379PROBAHO: BAT Bangladesh launched 5 new water treatment plants in Kustia and Manikganj on March 22, 2011.Probaho initiative has installed 43 plants to remove arsenic and toxic elements from groundwater.CSR Activities

Provide 220,000 liters pure drinking water to 110,000 people daily.DEPTO:BAT Bangladesh has already installed 576 units of Solar Home Systems in four remote villages.To fulfill electricity demand of Bangladesh BATB contributing a lot by providing free solar home system.

CSR Activities

Now they provide SHS in 7 villages for 4500 people.(2012)Afforestation: BATB have contributed more than 4 crore 60 lac saplings to country afforestation.Free sapling distribution program since 1980.Started distributing saplings in Dhaka, 1993.Distribute 75 million saplings in 2012.

Alternate Fuel: Since 1980 BATB replaced almost 100% Flue Cured Variety (FCV) from-Jute stickPaddy strawIndustrial waste etc.70 % of FCV Tobacco is grown in Bangladesh at Kustia.To meet the demand for wood fuel, every year they distribute 25 lac saplings free of cost in Chittagong.CSR Activities

Biodiversity: BATB is following biodiversity corners as well as providing training to the farmers on that.

Integrated pest management club: BATB established 1st IPMC in 2005 to support the farmers.

Compost pits: Every year BATB target to establish 80 compost pits in leaf growing areas.Social contributions for farmers:Sanitation support-15,000 latrines for registered farmer.Monthly health check- registered farmer receive free treatment. CSR Activities
