At the ONGC Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sivasagar, Assam, Multi-functional

Over 65% of CSR Expenditure towards Promoting Healthcare and Preventive
Healthcare with an expenditure of Rs.364.35 Cr.
20 Aspirational Districts adopted in 11 states where 164 projects have been
implemented amounting to ₹ 14.30 Cr. benefitting over 20 lakhs rural
population
Residential Block of Multi-Specialty Hospital at Assam inaugurated by CMD,

Over 21,876 patients have been benefitted with 3,27,000 OPD treatments in
the National Cancer Institute, Nagpur set up with funding support from

Promoting Healthcare & Preventive Healthcare
Out of a total CSR Expenditure of Rs.553 Cr., Rs 364.35 Cr. has been spent towards
promoting healthcare and preventive healthcare which includes contribution of Rs. 300
Cr. to PM CARES Fund to tackle COVID-19 pandemic outbreak
Swargdew-Siu-Ka-Pha Multispecialty hospital at Sivasagar
• To address the hospital bed deficit in entire Upper Assam and to ensure quality health care for the local population at affordable cost ONGC is setting up a 300 bed Multispecialty Hospital at Sivasagar in three phases with total financial outlay of ₹ 313 Cr.
• The services of the first phase of the hospital with 67 beds was inaugurated three months ahead of schedule in March 2019
• 34,306 nos. of OPD, 2232 nos. IPD , 848 surgeries, 69,815 lab tests, 4151 Emergencies, 6793 Dialysis were performed since inauguration of services
• Once the three phases are completed more than one lakh people will be benefitted in a year
National Cancer Institute, Nagpur
ONGC extended funding support of Rs. 100 Cr. in Phase-1 of this project and an additional Rs. 40
Cr. in Phase-2 of the project for setting up of a world class 455 bedded quaternary oncology
centre in Nagpur. In its phase-1 ONGC provided support towards construction of 1st and second
floors of the Institute and also towards setting up of radio diagnostic facilities like MRI, Digital X-
Ray, HDR, Mammography, Ultrasound, CT Scan and bone marrow density meter. In its 2nd phase
support was extended towards construction of 4th and 5th floors of the Institute. The National
Cancer Institute, Nagpur, inaugurated in 2017, has provided 3,27,000 OPD treatments and has
led to substantial savings of Rs. 14.72 Cr. by providing Cancer Care at affordable rates to
economically weaker patients.
Projects to tackle COVID-19 Pandemic Outbreak
• 380 numbers of CSR projects have been developed worth Rs.29.84 Cr. across 18 states of India benefiting more than 44.62 Lakhs beneficiaries.
• An assistance of Rs.3.8 Cr. extended towards cold chain logistic equipment support for the COVID-19 vaccine in Gujarat, Tripura, Uttarakhand and Nagaland
• Total of 20,93,708 food packets, 11,68,487 masks,1,54,809 PPE, 10,45,630 sanitizers distributed across 18 states to needy population and frontline workers
• Funding for 39 ventilators 140 fowler beds/ semi-fowler beds, autoclave, B.P. instrument, glucometer, more than a 100 Pulse Oximeters, 100 Oxygen Cylinders, 2 Nebulisers, ABG Machine, 380 IR Thermometers and Weighing Machines to various hospitals at Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Tripura and Uttarakhand
• Financial support extended to District Administration / Police Force for procuring Fumigator at Tripura, Air Surveillance Balloon System (Drone Camera) and Tractor Mount Boom Sprayer Equipment at Gujarat and Fogging machines at Jharkhand.
• Support has also been extended for hiring of ambulance for a period of 2 months dedicated for Covid-19 at Uran.
Other Healthcare Interventions
ONGC CSR takes pride in extending support towards developing hospital infrastructure worth
Rs.40.74 Cr., 31 projects worth Rs.3.29 Cr. were undertaken for providing critical medical
equipment to hospitals, funding support was provided for 10 ambulances in remote locations
across the country and 62 medical camps/blood donation/eye camps were organized this
financial year benefitting rural population.
Promoting Education
ONGC Merit Scholarship Scheme: ONGC has been operating an annual Merit Scholarship
Scheme for providing deserving SC/ST, economically weaker OBC and General category students
support of Rs. 48,000/- per annum towards pursuing MBBS, Geosciences, MBA and Engineering
courses. In FY 2020-21, 1,841 SC/ST, 497 OBC/MOBC, 500 EWS students benefitted.
ONGC Super 30: This initiative has provided coaching support to 30 students for engineering
entrance exams in Sivasagar and all of them have secured admission in Engineering colleges. In
Srinagar, Kashmir, this initiative has provided coaching to 30 students for medical entrance and
16 secured admission in FY 2020-21.
Your company is also running the ONGC Community School in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh for the last
6 years with an initial investment of Rs. 3 Cr. The school running with CBSE syllabus is one of its
kind in the remote region and has catered to 1217 students. The students have secured 100%
pass percentage in AISSE exams. This year ONGC extended Rs.10 lakhs support to keep the
school’s operations running during pandemic. ONGC has also extended Operational Support to
ONGC Kendriya Vidyalayas running across ONGC’s operational areas and the school benefits
students from in and around these remote locations. The strength of ONGC wards in these
schools is only 10%. The rest of the students are all locals belonging to the nearby areas.
To promote and preserve the ancient Sanskrit language, ONGC has extended funding support to
Samskrit Promotion Foundation through which in FY 2020-21, 23 books in Sanskrit have been
completed and uploaded in Samskrit Promotion Foundation website, 626 teachers have been
trained, 3700 teachers were trained online, 3200 beneficiaries availed online training.

In New Town, Kolkata, your company has extended funding support of Rs. 12 Cr. towards
Construction of Centre for Human Excellence and Social Sciences, Viveka Tirtha, Kolkata. This
project is nearing completion and will benefit around 1200 students per year by providing soft
skills training, moral education and other courses to youth.
Educational infrastructure has been created in 20 Aspirational Districts through Construction
support to 28 Anganwadis, installation of 400 computers, 60 smartclasses, construction of 10
school buildings, 86 school toilets and joint benches at 17 schools, reaching out to over 5000
students across these Aspirational Districts.

ONGC has been working with SankalpTaru to plant trees in Ghotaru, Rajasthan situated on
the India-Pakistan border near Jaisalmer.
Skill Development: Rs.4.40 Cr.
This unique initiative undertaken by ONGC in partnership with the Indian Army and
REACHA(NGO) is for the youth of Baramulla, where training is imparted in retail sales,
hospitality, fashion designing and cutting & sewing. In FY 2020-21, 360 students have been
imparted skill training and all of them are gainfully employed.
Skill Development at Baramullah, Kashmir: Rs.42.34 Lakhs
One of the flagship Skill initiatives undertaken by ONGC is the Skill Development Institute at
Ahmedabad which has been started as part of Petroleum Sector Skill Initiative.
In 2020-21, 296 youth were trained in 9 different trades, 137 have secured placements and
currently 90 more are undergoing training.
