FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCT Design software enables you to design the embedded software corresponding to your needs. It provides you embedded software for SmartDrive™ CT-30/200/300 (“.ct” file) as well as a wiring diagram of your system.This “.ct” file will then be sent to your SmartDrive™ using PHASES CT software.

Using the CT-Design application requires the previous acquisition of an operating license from Poclain Hydraulics. The validity of this license is monitored by a license file linked to the workstation.

USER INTERFACEThe user interface provides a simple and intuitive access to the functions and its design is suitable for easy and comfortableuse of CT Design on a Windows tablet.

The screen is divided into two areas:• Side menu bar which allows navigation through the application.• Working area where user can interact with his design.

Side menu bar

The side menu bar is always displayed and contains tabs allowing user to access software modules.

Using software on a tablet holding it by left hand, you can navigate through modules with left thumb, keeping right hand free to interact with working area.

Working area

The working area displays the module selected in the left side menu bar.

Carousel module Displays a carousel of machine templates.

Display a model code field and analyse every options in order to describe it depending product.

Model code module

Displays a honeycomb of function selection and configuration.Honeycomb module

Displays the wiring diagram of the system corresponding to the selected functions in Honeycomb module.

Wiring diagram module

Allows saving current work, getting embedded software and opening a saved design.

Save & get module

Allows adjusting the PC software and managing CT Design account.Configuration module

CT DESIGN INSTALLATIONRequired elements

Before proceeding to installation, ensure that you have the following items:

• PC equipped with:- Processor: 2 GHz minimum- Memory (RAM): 1 GB minimum- Hard disk: 350 MB free space- Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10- Color monitor with minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 points, 256 colors

Software installation procedure

Proceed as follow:• Download CT-DESIGN software on Poclain-Hydraulics Download Center: http://phases.poclain-hydraulics.com/downloadcenter/• Unzip archive file to get the installer• Close all active programs• Deactivate any antivirus that may be running on the PC• Double click on « Setup CT-DESIGN XXXXXXX-X.exe » to install the software• Grant an exception if you have a firewall• Follow instructions at screen• Install the security key driver (if needed)

XXXXXXX-X represents the software P/N (part number) of the installer.

License request

Poclain-Hydraulics authorizes to use its software freely but under license and control of its support. A license could be reused in case of no justified request.

At software launching, if no license is detected, the Poclain-Hydraulics Licenses Utility software appears. You need to complete the 5 following steps to activate your own license:

• Agree the terms• Complete the form online at: http://smartdrive.poclain-hydraulics.com/licenses/• Once you receive per email your license file from Poclain-Hydraulics phases support, save it on your local disk and localize your file• Activate your license• Congratulation• Close Utility and launch CT-DESIGN again

INITIAL USE AND CONFIGURATION

Initial launch of the CT Design application

To launch CT Design double click on desktop icon created during installation or use the start menu.

• The main screen will be displayed (see opposite).

Selecting the language

To select your languague proceed as follows:

• In the side menu bar click on {Configuration} or press <F5> to display ..the configuration screen.• Choose desired language from the collapsible menu.


DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONSCarousel

This module displays the templates already available or which will be in the future.This is the first screen that will be displayed when you launch CT Design software. You have to choose one of them in order to make your design.The one at the center of the screen is the one that will be used in the honeycomb module.

There are several ways to move around the carousel:

• Use the mouse wheel.• Use the arrows on the keyboard.• Left click on the selected template.• Left / right movement using the mouse while holding the left click down or with finger if using CT Design on a Windows tablet.

Model code

This module allows to fill the model code of the product and to describe all the options selected. After analysis, some options will be automatically configuring or automatically exclude due to the product. The model code will be transmitted to the E.C.U.

Help icon:allows to consult help file concerning the model code of the product.

Status:problem detected, software is not able to continue.

The “Export to PDF” button allows to export the model code and the configuration of the product in a standard PDF format.

Wiring diagram

There are several ways to move around the diagram:• Up / down movement using the mouse while holding the left click down.• Usage of the keyboard arrows.• Holding the “Shift” key down while using the keyboard’s arrows which will act as the previous way but faster.

There are several ways to zoom on this diagram:• Usage of mouse wheel in order to zoom in and out.• Double click on the diagram in order to come back to the initial zoom.• Usage of “+” and “-“keys in order to zoom in/out.• Up/down movement using mouse while holding the right click down. This will perform a real time zoom in and out.• Holding down “Ctrl” key and moving the mouse while holding the left click down. A black rectangle will be drawn, showing the part of the -..diagram to be zoomed. After mouse button is released, the zoom will be applied.

This module displays the wiring diagram of the system corresponding to the functions you have selected in the honeycomb.

Title block

This title block, present at the bottom right corner of the diagram is dynamically filled with the part number of the embedded software that corresponds to your design, the part number of the CT Design database you are using, the date and the functions activation mask (“MAF”) which corresponds to the functions you have selected in the honeycomb.

There is also a free field where you can put whatever information you want.

Command buttons

This button allows displaying a real time thumbnail of the diagram. The visible zone of the diagram is displayed in the blackrectangle of the thumbnail. You can move this rectangle in the thumbnail, it will move the displayed zone of the diagram in the main window.

This button allows modifying the content of the free field present in the title blocks.It will display an input box, limited to 30 characters.

This button allows printing the diagram.

This button allows saving the diagram as a .png file.

Save and get

This module allows you saving your work and getting the embedded software corresponding to your choices.

With the “SAVE” button, you can save your current work as a “.des” file.With the “GET IT” button, you can get the embedded software corresponding to your choices.

To do that you have to be connected to the Internet.• Create a CT Design account using the form present in CT Design software.• This software will be saved as a “.ct” file which you will be able to download into your ECU using PHASES CT software.• To be able to use this function, your design has to be complete (honeycomb module button displayed without a warning sign).

Honeycomb button has to be displayed like this: and not like this: Otherwise the “GET IT” button will be highlighted in gray.

With the “OPEN” button, you can load a design you have worked on. You can either choose a “.des” file or a “.ct” file. You will then directly go to the honeycomb module and your design will be reloaded.

Before gathering the software, CT-Design asks to browse the folder where files will be saved.

You will be able to save up to three different files:

• The embedded software for the ECU• The electrical diagram of the generated software• Resume of the chosen functions and the configuration

You have to approve the Terms & Conditions before saving files.

Once Terms & Condition are approved, you can save files.

Configuration

This module allows choosing the language of the software. You can also see part numbers of PC software, database and licenses stored on USB dongle. This is available under “More info” button.

You can create your own CT Design account and connect to it.

Account creation

First of all you need to click on “Create account”.You will have to fulfill this form:

When it is done and the entered values are correct, click on “Send”. If you have access to the Internet, your account is now created but you

still can’t connect to it or get embedded software. You must first check your mail box with the email address entered to create your CT Design account.

You should have received an email from “CT Design Account Manager” asking you to activate your account. To do that, you just have to click on the link present in this email. Once your account is activated, you can log in to your account by clicking on “Login”.

You can check the “Remember me” checkbox so that CT Design will use these email address and password at launch time and directly log in to your account if you have access to the Internet. When you are successfully logged in, the connection status image becomes green.

From now you can create a design and get embedded software.
