Cultural mediation Les Rencontres culturelles à Côte-des-Neiges and Trois fois passera allow us to offer cultural initiatives for students at the francization schools in Côte-des-Neiges and families from the Centre de Services Préventifs à l’Enfance de Côte-des-Neiges (funded under the Agreement on cultural development in Montréal between the MCCCF and the city of Montréal).

The De la cour à la scène cultural committee7,000 children from the 14 French elementary schools in the borough will see shows by Cas public, with Le cabaret dansé des vilains petits canards (dance), Sacré tympan, with Fragile (musi-cal theatre), Théâtre du Gros Mécano, with Chopin et le petit tas de bois (theatre) and Théâtre de l’Avant-Pays, with Le voyage (theatre). Thanks to the De la cour à la scène committee, neighbour-hood children have enjoyed cultural outings over the past fifteen years, in partnership with the borough’s Maisons de la culture, the Maison-théâtre and the Segal Centre.

Creators in residenceIn 2010, artists Mireille Tawfik, Sacré Tympan, Fila 13, Myriame El Yamani and Marcelle Dubois have enjoyed short resi-dence periods at the Maison de la culture, in some cases in association with different partners.

Carnets migratoires is a series of mixed media drawings on recycled canvases by Suzanne Desbiens. She is a visual diarist, offering up discoveries from her wanderings through Montréal migrant neighbour-hoods. Artists Nadia Aït-Saïd, Hassane Amraoui, Liloud Chennoufi, Nour-Eddine Djoudja, Ali Kichou and Hadjira Preure pay tribute to M’hamed Issiakhem, a major artist from the second half of the 20th century (1928-1985) and one of the founders of modern painting in Algeria. This artists’ collective was inspired by Issiakhem’s paintings to produce their sculptures, paintings and mixed media work.Floor 1 • Thursday, March 24, 5 p.m.

Sophie Privé bases her drawings on photographs from her daily life. Her contemplative work portrays those seemingly unimportant moments, and illus-trates the complexity and permeability of our language. Admission policyAll activities are free. For shows, however, you must pick up passes two weeks ahead of time at the Côte-des-Neiges Maison de la culture or the Intercultural Library (6767, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges) and present proof of residency in Montréal.Quantities are limited to two per person for evening shows and four per family for family shows.

Beside Myself/ hors de moiCurator: André-Louis Paré

Identité is a visual research project conducted by Miki Gingras and Patrick Dionne. The artists invi-ted Côte-des-Neiges residents to mime scenes representing their identities. They then put these many images together to create a photographic mural representing the individual and collective identities of this part of the community.

LobbyThis project received financial support from the Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition feminine and the city of Montréal under the Agreement on the cultural development of Montréal 2008-2011.

The Beside Myself/Hors de moi exhibition by multi-disciplinary artist Daniel Olson presents an over-view of his work over the past two decades. His pieces are full of references to popular and learned culture, as he captures, records and reproduces details of a world in which art is part of life. He inter-prets the culture that inspires him in a poetic and gently playful fashion. Produced by Expression, centre d’exposition de Saint-Hyacinthe. Floors 1 and 2
