Cultural cluster of Shabolovka concept should be a result of superlative work by professionals from different disciplines. Nowadays specialists from HSE, MARCH, The Avant-Garde Center, MArchI, independent historians, architects and cultural managers are involved into discussion about territory potential.
Now it is possible to assume few things, already:
1Existing historical and architectural heritage allows starting up the cultural life in the district in a little while. There are, already, permanent excursions and lectures, creative collaborations take place.
2Existing cultural infrastructure and small investment are enough to make the district a point of significant interest on the cultural and tourist map of Moscow.
3The current attention to the Shukhov tower of foreign and Russian world-class experts will permit to attract a unique command of professionals to the work on the creation of a new urban environment in the Shabolovsky district.
4Further development of the project and the involvement of a wide range of partners and investors (both local and major federal) would help create new cultural projects.
Among the options which came up during expert discussions: Museum of Communication, Museum of Radio and Television, Engineers Museum, The avant-garde festival, and much more - any of these projects take place in Shabolovka will be closely linked with the history of the area.
Work on creating the Cultural cluster of Shabolovka can become the basis for the important interdisciplinary collaboration: municipal and federal institutions, professional Russian and world community will not only restore The Shukhov tower, the masterpiece of engineering art and architecture, to the city map but also will create a unique sustainable urban environment around it.
