1) In one paragraph, summarize the article and the event it covers.

This article is about the upcoming GOP debate between candidates Donald Trump, Jeb

Bush, Carly Fiorina, and many other candidates. But since the beginning of the first debate in

early August, Trump has been dominating the race and his adversaries. This article covers those

running and the rough direction this debate is heading due to the insults and aggressive speech

aimed at each contestant. For example, Trump is calling Fiorina a failure and citing her fire from

Hewlett-Packard. On the other hand, Fiorina is calling out Trump for his personal attacks on Fox

News debate moderator Megyn Kelly. It has become a dog eat dog debate with everyone at each

other’s heels. Things are starting to heat up as we approach the upcoming GOP debate and

hopefully this will result in a strong debate.

2) In one paragraph, explain how the event covered in the article affects your life.

This article affects my life because it gives me a broader overview of who the candidates

for this race are. When I’m old enough to vote it gives me the vital information I need to assess

who gets my vote. If we vote for a bad candidate that misrepresents us it can end up affecting the

whole country. Without having a proper representative for the United States, many things can go

wrong such as war, economics, and other major factors that make us a country. So by

understanding the candidates and who they are, we can vote for the best runner and effectively

move forward as a country.

three questions that you would ask in order to acquire additional relevant information that

was not mentioned in the article?

What are some of the things that these candidates can do for us as a country?

Being governors and senators, what have they done in their career so far that impacted the lives

of citizens?
