• Then – read it
• Next – annotate it
• Finally – answer 10 analysis questions
The Rules• Articles must be about American
government!• They must be written during the quarter
in which they are due• First quarter articles must be written
between August 1 and October 29• Must be published in an approved sources
UNLESS you see me AHEAD of time for approval
• Must be 750 words long• Cannot be from blogs, editorials, opinions,
or non-government sections

newspapers/magazines UNLESS you get the article approved by me AHEAD of time:

• First step is to read and heavily annotate the article.
• Heavily annotating means highlighting and writing 7-10 notes per page
• Next step is to answer the 10 analyses questions

writing them on a piece of paper
• By Typing them on a word processor and printing them
• By downloading a worksheet and typing the answers
• By downloading a worksheet, printing it, and writing the answers

Turning it in
• Staple the annotated article to the BACK of the questions page and turn it in
• Double check that your NAME is on it!
So… when is it due?• Due on a rolling deadline.
• Not officially due until the last day of each quarter
• BUT you should aim to get three in by interims
• If you don’t have 3 in by interims, zeroes will appear in the grade book
