WORK EXPERIENCE
REDPLUM ENTERPRISES LIMITED
POSITION: PRODUCTION AND QUALITY SUPERVISOR
DURATION: DEC 2014-PRESENT
DUTIES PERFORMED
1) Ensuring the attainment of the plant production targets both in quantity and quality.
2) Development and implementation of quality control and maintenance schedules for all
the plant machinery.
3) Conducting audits for required spare parts and equipment in the plant both already in
use and prospective machinery in-cases of new designs for specific production or quality
necessity.
4) Managing personal development of the plant employees in both production and quality
5) Analyzing blueprints, technical drawings, schematics or computer generated reports.
6) Research, design, evaluation, installation, operation and maintenance of the plant
equipments, systems and processes to meet the existent requirements in the industry.
7) Recommendation of design modifications to eliminate machine or
systems malfunctions.
8) Development and testing of alternate designs and processing methods to assess
feasibility, operation condition effects, possible new applications and necessity
of modification.
9) Writing performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
10) Overseeing the installation, operation, maintenance or repair to ensure that machine
equipments are installed and functioning according to specifications.
ACHIEVEMENTS
1) Designing, fabrication and installation of a Bobbin Rewinder machine. This was necessitated by the high wastage in production from the loom section and
the time taken to unwinding the bobbins.
It took 5 employees one hour to unwind an average of 38 bobbins. This unwound
raffia tapes would also not be used further in production thus increasing the
operational wastage.
The machine rewinds 450-500 bobbins per hour. It requires 1 operator for its operation
and the rewinding ensures zero wastage of the tapes as they are reused in the loom
machines.
2) Reduction of operational wastage by 52%. In context, the average operation wastage is 7.2 kg per day from the previous average
of 15-18kgs per day. This was actuated greatly by the bobbin rewinder that accounted
for 67% of the reduction. Progressive elimination of causes of wastage in the plant by
machine operational conditions and modifications et al.
3) Formulation of trouble- shooting formulas for the various machines in the plant
eg. Determining spreader tensions from fabric tensile tests, Raw material
configurations for the best quality products, Denier calculation modules that
reduced the time required for their determination and further improving the
operation of the machines both in production and quality.
4) Increase in production of the plant from 2.5Million meters to 3.1Million meters. Machine modifications to ensure optimal performance of the machines in the
production department. Eg fitting of inverters to loom machines. This accounted for 5%
of the increased production as the tape breakages were reduced, the machine start up
time was increased the increasing production attained among other machine
modifications.
This was also due a philosophical training approach and the afore-mentioned practices.
