2011 – 2015: Enhanced solar powered algal-bacterial sustainablewastewater treatment. This project supported by Cairo University under theannual scientific research funding program.

2004 – 2006: Enhanced biodegradation of persistent organic pollutant,Environmental biotechnology and bioremediation. International collaborationbetween Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University and Biotechnology department,Lund University, Sweden. This project was supported by funds from SIDA (theSwedish International Development and Cooperation Agency) administrated bythe Swedish Research Council (Vetenskaprهdet) under the SIDA-MENAresearch link program (project # 2002-6971).

2005 – 2007: Novel biological remediation process combined with solarirradiation for cost – efficient removal of persistent organic pollutants(POPs). This project was supported by the framework of the Egyptian Academyof Scientific Research and Technology’s National Strategy for Biotechnologyand Genetic Engineering Program (project # GBENV-003-003-011)
