Kogi Mobile is a specialist mobile software development house based in Miami and Medellin, Colombia. We are experts in the design and development of native mobile applications for iOS, Android and responsive websites in HTML5.

We work as an external extension of our clients development teams. We develop full projects to very high standards in normally 3-6 weeks depending on the complexity of the app. We have more than 70 of our own devices for Quality Assurance which is very important with the fragmentation when developing for Android.

We have developed over 150 applications and more than 300 mobile sites for clients in the UK, US, Australia, Korea and Colombia. Some of these clients are: HP, Samsung, McDonalds, Castrol, Nestle, Volkswagen, Toyota, X-Factor, Big Brother and many more.

We share all the project documents (the tasks of each programmer, visible day by day), all code (shared live using tools such as Github) and send daily updates or hold conference calls. Kogi only employs experienced developers with a minimum requirement of a degree in computer engineering – all of our developers have a minimum of one year experience in developing for Mobile. All projects are developed using Agile, so throughout the project the client can view and feedback on releases.

All project and account management is delivered by English native speakers and all employees are bi-lingual in both English and Spanish.

Kogi also develops applications and platform products which are offered to customers on a licence fee basis. Kogi has a number of puzzle games which can be licensed to brands and large media clients as well as a number of integrated support platforms such as Push Notifications (Kogi Push) and a Game Centre equivalent (Kogi Share).

Description:This was a project for the London Olympics 2012, specifically for Android. The application contains 6 games, 2 artificial reality games (AR) and 4 3D action games. Users register through FB or email, play the games and challenge friends. In addition there are 3D panoramic views and promotional content for the Olympics and Samsung. The app has been done in 10 languages. Kogi built the entire application apart from the games – this also included the complete back end leader board/challenge system (similar to the iOS Game Centre). This app has been available in different stores like Google Play and Samsung Apps store.

Description:

We built the very popular Snapfish app for Hewlett Packard for both Android and iOS. The app allows users to upload their photos, link in photos from Instagram, change views and backgrounds and order prints to have them delivered to their house. This is an on-going project that we continue to add functionality to.

Description:We developed a native application for Bupa for both iOS and Android. It is a pedometer app that allows users to track the distance that they walk every day. Users can create groups and challenge their friends and family. They can also win badges depending on distances they walk on a daily and weekly basis. The app has been a success with over 60,000 downloads across both platforms so far. As well as building the app for both platforms we also built the backend.

Description:We have just finished an iOS and Android app for a start-up based in California called Hitch Radio. It is the first radio app with both instant messaging and real-time search. It is like the SnapChat or WhatsApp of radio. In the app users can message friends while listening to radio stations from around the world for free. There are over 20,000 radio stations listed from all over the world so you can open the app and type in anything you want to listen to and the app searches the world in real-time to find where your song is playing.

Description:Castrol were one of the major sponsors of the Confederation’s Cup 2013 and World Cup Finals 2014 in Brazil. They requested an app that would allow them to track where their VIP’s would be at all times during the finals. We have completed phase 1 for Blackberry, Android and iOS platforms which was tested at the Conferation’s Cup. We also built the web interface which highlighted where each user was on the map. Phase 2 is beginning soon.

Description:This application allows members of the large UK gym chain to book classes, refer their friends and get fitness tips. The app allows users to scan QR codes on the gym’s equipment to watch instructional workout videos, read what the benefits are and how do use the equipment properly. The app also allows users to find their closest gym and select a secondary gym which they can use if they are travelling or visiting another part of the UK.

Description:Application for the world famous casting show with information about each participant. The user can buy credits through in app purchase and vote for their favourite participant. XM Version desktop

Description:This is a system that we developed to allow public and private users of XM to consult the companies financial reports. The challenge with this project was that it needed to be done with the same base of code for mobile and desktop platforms on Microsoft SharePoint 2010 (this version doesn't support HTML5 and additional effort was needed in the analysis and design to make it work correctly). This system is the first real solution for XM done in HTML5.
