Customer Contact Centre: 0300 123 5000 South West Regional Control Centre Unit 2 St. Brendan’s Court Avonmouth BS 11 9FB Our ref: 546386 Date: 10.06.16 Dear Stakeholder, Highways England: A36 Monkton Combe – Church Lane Resurfacing I am writing to advise you that Skanska, working on behalf of Highways England, intends to start work in your area this month to carry out surfacing repairs. We will be carrying out the resurfacing on the A36 Warminster Road between Church Lane, Monkton Combe (just north of Brassknocker Hill) and the Midford Lane/Church Lane junction at Limpley Stoke, across both northbound and southbound lanes. This will ensure that this section of the A36 remains safe and reliable for drivers for many years to come. The work, which will be carried out during the night between the hours of 21:00 – 06:00, is scheduled to start on Monday 27 June and will continue for 16 nights (weeknights only) until Tuesday 19 July. Due to the type of work taking place and to ensure the safety of both the travelling public and our workforce, it will be necessary to fully close a section of the A36 between Bath and the A350 at Warminster to through traffic, while the night-time work is taking place. Access will be maintained for residents and emergency services, and where applicable, for local businesses. During the closure, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place and details of the diversions can be found on the map overleaf. Northbound through traffic will be diverted from the A36 just west of Warminster to take the A350 north to Chippenham where traffic will join the A4 west to Bath. Southbound through traffic will be diverted at Bath to take the A4 east towards Chippenham and then south on the A350 to join the A36 west of Warminster. Please note that whilst we always aim to work to the programme, unforeseen circumstances may mean slight changes to the programme. If this happens, we will do our best to notify you as soon as possible. We will of course make every effort to ensure that the impact of our works is kept to a minimum. We understand our works may cause some inconvenience and disruption to you, and we would like to apologise in advance and kindly ask for your patience whilst the works are taking place. If you have any queries or comments about the works and would like further information, please contact the Highways England Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or by email: [email protected] . Yours sincerely, Katy Macdonald Communications Officer Skanska Infrastructure Services
