I have spent years working in ship yards as a painter and fairer and fully understand the importance of coatings and surface preparation, some of the duties included long boarding, grinding, filling, painting and mixing. I am currently working onboard Sailing Yacht ‘Is A Rose’ and have gained a lot of valuable experience from this yacht and crew where I have been in charge of deck maintenance. I am comfortable using base coats and topcoats and with surface preparation procedures such as grinding and needle gunning and have recently completed the ICATS course. Having also worked at heights on the ships masts I am now looking to complete a ropes access course. I consider myself to be a very dedicated, hard worker with a polite manner and ‘can do’ attitude. In a work environment I like to use my initiative to achieve the best results possible. I thrive in a positive team environment and I am very enthusiastic about progressing with my career. Work Experience: May 2011 – Present Bosun, S/Y Is A Rose (50m) Recently I have been responsible for chart work (passage planning) and LSA checks. I am also the lead firefighter onboard. Regular performance of wash downs, driving tender with guests on board and controlling day to day deck duties. I am responsible for dockside exterior maintenance, filling and painting repairs. Reorganizing deck department, including inventory of all products and gear including that in storage. I am also competent with mast and spreader work. During deliveries I have responsibility as watch leader. June 2008 – May 2011 Barman The Red Lion Pub (Viareggio) Duties included managing the pub, staff, stock take, cashing up, locking up, cleaning, maintenance and customer service. April 2006 – June 2008 Various Exterior Daywork positions, including winter refits (Viareggio) S/Y Antara, S/Y Santa Maria, S/Y Christanne B, S/Y Tamsin, S/Y Barasca, M/Y Blind Date, M/Y Anna Eva, M/Y Apogee, S/Y Barracuda, M/Y Solia, M/Y Seven Sins, plus many more.
