Cyber Monday deals for geeks: Tech gadgets for a song

Sure, Black Friday might have become a national retail holiday, but Cyber Monday offers nearly allthe savings without all the icky contact with the rest of humanity. It's just you, your wallet, and thebuy button -- shopping the way it was meant to be. We've rounded up some of the best deals fromaround the web below, and we'll be adding more as they roll in, so check back soon.

Amazon

Amazon's doing Cyber Monday a little differently and unlocking different deals at various timesthroughout the week. There'll be quite a few things offered, but from what we've seen the highlightswill be a 250GB Xbox 360 holiday bundle that comes with Fable III and Halo Reach and an unlockedNokia N8 for $299. There's also the usual collection of discounts on cameras and TVs.

Ebuyer

For our British readers, Ebuyer's doing a £1 clearance sale starting at 11AM GMT today. The itemson offer will change throughout the day (spoiler: we doubt there'll be any iPads up for grabs at thatprice), so keep an eye on it if you're in need of some small accessories or other tidbits.

Best Buy

Best Buy's Cyber Monday laptop deals aren't all that impressive, but there are good deals in othercategories: you can pick up a free AT&T HTC Titan, grab the Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS for$129, or score $500 off a 55-inch Samsung LED LCD TV.

In the UK, the company's started its closing down sale with discounts on most items of between 10and 30 percent. CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays get a 50 percent price cut, though things are likely to geteven cheaper as we get closer to the shutdown deadline.

Target

Target's Cyber Monday deals are all over the place, as you'd expect, but the electronics offers arepretty good: highlights include $25 off a 32GB iPod touch (not today's best iPod touch deal -- seeBarnes & Noble below), a bundle of 32GB iPod touch and iBeats headphones for $299.99 a CanonEOS T3 DSLR for just $599, and a Nintendo Wii with a bunch of accessories and New Super MarioBros Wii for $174.

Overstock.com

Overstock.com's Cyber Monday deals aren't bad, either: you can grab a Nook Simple Touch for $69,which is the cheapest we've seen it, a refurbished white 32GB iPad 2 for $529, and a ThinkPad Edgewith a Core i3 for $399, amongst other offers.

Staples

Staples probably has the best Cyber Monday laptop deal, with a $329 HP dm3 in the mix, but there

Page 2: Cyber Monday deals for geeks: Tech gadgets for a song

are plenty of other deals on printers, cameras, and various other office-related things in the mix aswell.

Dell

Dell's Cyber Monday offerings obviously include a number of laptops, but the best deal is ironicallyon a Sony product: you can grab a 46-inch Sony Google TV for just $798, a savings of about $600.

Walmart

Walmart's Cyber Monday deals aren't much to write home about, but you can grab a Sony Walkmanvideo player for $60 and there are tons of discounted TVs in the mix as well.

Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble's Cyber Monday deals include tons of discounts on books and movies, as you mightexpect, but there's also a 30 percent off coupon for a single item, 50 percent off Magellan GPS units, and a $224 32GB iPod touch -- beating that Target deal handily.

Apple

Although it's already nixed the minor Black Friday discounts, Apple is offering free shipping fromnow through December 22nd on any product ordered from its US online store. Other countries --Canada, UK, France, and Spain, among others -- are getting free standard shipping for orders placedtoday only. Seeing as Europe is several hours closer to Tuesday, we suggest those across the pond(and a few countries further inland) start acting soon. If you're looking for discounted hardware, though, you'll want to look elsewhere in this list.

Groupon

The virtual flash mob dealmaker is taking 48 percent off the Sony Bloggie Touch MP4 pocketcamcorder, offering it at $94 if commit to purchasing by the end of today. The offers is available inlimited quantities only and already over 1,000 have reportedly claim this deal, which is thecompany's nice way of saying you may, in fact, have even less time to decide.

TigerDirect

TigerDirect's big deal looks to be the 15.6-inch HP ProBook 4530s with Intel Core i5 processor for$549.99, which is $200 off the list price and $150 off its usual sales price. There's also a Sony Blu-ray player with Google TV for $159.99 -- perfect for loved ones with a penchant for crazy largeremote controls.

Newegg

Newegg has a rather handy list of all its Cyber Monday sales items that seems to constantly updatewith that is and isn't sold out. Standouts include $200 off Asus N53SV and $250 off Dell Inspiron15R -- both with Intel Core i5 processors -- and $220 off a 46-inch Sony Google TV. Better still, today's Google offer is $20 for $40 of Newegg credit, which sweetens the deal even more.

Living Social

Page 3: Cyber Monday deals for geeks: Tech gadgets for a song

The undisputed king of "pay $X for a twice that in [Store Y] credit" has dozens of deals for CyberMonday today, chief among them in the technology category being $10 for $20 worth of Skype creditand $25 for a $50 credit on any Verizon Wireless device or accessory. Living Social is also offering$50 worth Marvel Avengers Alliance Cheats of Incase gear for $25, a $19.99 Electronic Arts game(via Origin) for $10, and $20 of Office Max credit for $10.

OfficeMax

At least six Kodak point-and-shoots are getting discounts of $40 or more, but the only one we canreally recommend is the 14-megapixel M583 for $99.99. And since it is OfficeMax, you're bound tofind a tempting deal for desks, printers, and other more professional-leaning use.

Toys"R"Us

Sure, the big draw is new Power Rangers and Toy Story action figures, but Toys"R"Us is alsooffering $35 off a Nintendo Wii, a free game when you buy 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle, and50 percent off any Xbox 360 or PlayStatoin 3 game if you buy the new Need for Speed, Call of Duty,Battlefield, or Assassin's Creed titles at full price.

GameStop

GameStop is knocking $10 off the cost of Batman: Arkham City and throwing in a free copy ofBatman Forever the movie. Let's rephrase: GameStop is paying you $10 to take their copies ofBatman Forever. It's also offering free copies of Fear 2: Project Origin with the purchase of selecttitles.

Sony Store

Sony's official online storefront is slashing prices across the board, but laptop shoppers might beparticularly fond of a free upgrade to Intel Core i7 processors for select VAIO computers. HDTVsseemed to be getting around the same discounts as elsewhere, too.

Microsoft Store

As Verge reader brockorr points out, Microsoft Store Online has the 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinectholiday bundle for $299 -- free shipping, too. HTC's Radar 4G, Trophy, and Arrive are free with anew plan from their respective carriers.

Verizon Wireless

Verizon's online exclusives today are a $199.99 Motorola Xoom 4G LTE and $49.99 LG Revolution. Both requiring two-year contracts, of course, but the Xoom 4G LTE is still a pretty good discount

given its $499.99 on-contract launch price from just a month ago.

Buy.com

Buy.com's Cyber Monday deals aren't the most exciting, but there's some good stuff to be had: aKobo Touch Edition ebook reader for $69.99, Logitech's Boombox Wireless speaker for $109.99, anda Slingbox SOLO for $99.99. For the adventurous among us, the GoProHD camcorder is $189.99during the sale.

Origin

Origin's offering 50 percent off more than 200 titles, which means you can score Battlefield 3 andMadden NFL 12 for $29.99 each -- spend more than $35 and shipping's free, too. There are alsohuge deals on mobile apps, and you can get slightly older games like FIFA Soccer 11 for as little as$4.99.
