Hey Key Clubbers! I hope all of you are having an awesome
summer filled with service. First off, congratulations to VivianYoung for getting her article published in the Tex-O-Key! This is
a great honor for an even better articleJ. In this newsletter,
yall will have the privilege of reading articles about the new
Governors Project and articles by your fellow club members.
Remember, Key Club is a year-round thing, so during thesummer we still have events and other things that will allow
yall to earn hours for the fall! So keep going to events and tell
all your friends about Key Club for next year! Also, if you know
any incoming freshman, tell them to join the best organization
on campus (which, ya know, is OBVIOUSLY Key ClubJ). Have a
great rest of the summer and dont forget to serve!
Yours in Service,
Hannah Norem

Dear Key Clubbers,
Summer is a time for cold ice cream, great
music, beautiful beaches, and KEY CLUB! Contraryto popular belief, Key Club is active during the
summer and I would love for members to volunteerat more summer events. Volunteer hours that
members complete during the summer counttoward next years hours, which is awesome for
those of you involved in many activities. I know#thestruggleisreal for those of you involved in clubs
and activities that take up much of your time.
However, you can get hours during the summer soyou can complete your 20 hours, but also keep
super busy with your clubs! For the month of July wehave the Cypress Historical Society Picnic (Saturday,
July 6th) and Habitat for Humanity (Saturday, July27th). The Cypress Historical Society Picnic is a lot of
fun, and it has an old-fashioned ice cream machineand other cool old things. Habitat for Humanity is a
great way to get hours and feel a sense ofaccomplishment afterwards, because youre
building a house that will last a family for a lifetime. Icouldnt think of a better way to spend the second
month of summer than volunteering for these greatevents! Have an excellent month of July and GO
KEY CLUB!
Yours in Service,
Amy Jiang

Where Do I Sign Up?By Cattie-Brie Hon, incoming freshman
When I arrived at Telge Park for the PCM, I could
already see a flurry of colors from all the differen
Key Clubs that were present. As soon as I was
close enough, the roar of people from the
icebreaker shook my eardrums. After being calle
out the first few minutes into the icebreaker, I
went and sat down on the side and ran into an o
friend from Mayde Creek High School. We shared
our experiences in Key Club and told each other
about how much we contributed into our Key
Clubs fundraising efforts and he told me about
how at his school they compete for the mostnumber of Key Club hours award at their school.
told him about how much money I helped my key
club fundraise for Childrens Miracle Network. All
of a sudden, a Key Clubber from Cy-Ranch said
that his Key Club had donated a few thousand
dollars to Childrens Miracle Network. Afterwards
we all sat down and ate some snacks while talkin
about a range of topics from DCON, End of Year
Banquets, and Positions we would be holding for
the coming year. Then a little while after, a lot ofus decided to go for a hike in the woods. Someho
after 5 minutes of walking, the entire group split
into three parts, of which one got lost in the wood
because they had wondered off the path. The
group that I was in happened to stumble upon
them and we led them back to the main entrance
Finally and sadly, the end of the PCM had come
and people had started to leave. I started to say
my goodbyes while I waited for my own ride to
show up. After I had left I thought about the whol
experience and remembered that I had forgotten
to take photos of the event. All in all, the people
that I met, the memories that were made, and th
new Key Club Advice I had learned will be in my
head and heart for a very long time if not forever

Hey guys! I created the back page this month to
showcase all the really exciting things about Key
Club this year: DCON & Fall Rally, ELIMINATE, and
the Governors Project. Enjoy!
Did you go to DCON last year? Do you want to go toDCON this year? Do you like rollercoasters? Do you want
to interact with other clubs? If you answered yes to any
of these questions, Fall Rally should become a definitepart of your future. On September 28th, the entire Texas-Oklahoma District is headed to Six Flags Over Texas in
Arlington, and were going to get super excited overwhat this next year of service holds for us! Plus, you get adiscounted price for a fun-filled day at Six Flags ($30).
Youll have a blast if you go! Contact me (HannahNorem) or Amy Jiang if you want to go!
Every year in Key Club, the Governor of the Texas-Oklahoma District
focuses his time and energy on one particular issue. This issue iscalled the Governors Project. This year, our Governor, Luke
Broussard, has chosen bullying as his focus issue for his Governors
Project: Kickn Bullyn to the Curb.
Since we were young, weve been told that bullying is bad. But yet,
thousands upon thousands still claim theyre bullied every year. Why
is that? Are they lying? Are they crazy? NO. Bullying is a very real and
present problem in schools today, and no one is exempt from this.
Everyone is affected by bullying in some shape or fashion, and thats
an unavoidable fact of life.
What can we do about this? Well, stop being a bystander and tell
someone, and participate in anti-bullying activities. Together, we can
KICK BULLYING TO THE CURB!
