Meals on Wheels Orange CountyMeals on Wheels Orange County is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving seniorsand their families. They offer a variety of supportive services designed to promote well-beingand independence including:

Meal DistributionAs an alternative to the suspended congregate lunch program, the Senior Center provides frozenmeals that participants can pick up and take home. Curbside pick-ups take place Monday throughFriday, between 11:00am - 12:00pm at the north end of the building on a first-come, first-served basis.

Commodities - Wednesday,August 11Second Wednesday of each month from 9:00 - 10:30am or until gone, the Senior Center distributesmonthly commodities curbside at the North end of the building. These shelf stable items provided bySecond Harvest Food Bank are packed in bags by Recreation staff, following the suggested healthand safety guidelines.

SeniorCuisine DeliveredMeals on Wheels Orange County is pleased to announce as part of ourSenior Cuisine Deliveredcomprehensive Covid-response for older adults. Senior Cuisine Delivered is designed to provide freshrestaurant-quality meals at an affordable price, delivered safely to doors of participating seniors.

Following the sunset of Great Plates Delivered, they received numerous requests from older adultswho wanted healthy senior meals from restaurants and caterers for a reasonable price, without hiddenfees and delivery costs.

Senior Cuisine Delivered is in response to their needs, providing convenience and comfort.And at just$9.95 per meal, it’s also affordable. For a limited time, offering new participants $ off their firstthey’re 204-week subscription. This program is designed for older adults age 50+ and family members andcaregivers who live with them. Portions are sized for seniors.

Cooking with TeenaDreamsicle Dessert by Zetty Gordon & Helen Boyles

Ingredients

1 small sugar free orange Jello

1 small sugar free instant vanilla pudding

1 cup boiling water

1 cup of cold water

1 – 8 oz container Cool Whip

1 – 16 oz can mandarin oranges (drain)

2 cups mini-marshmallows (optional)

Directions:

� Make orange Jello using boiling water, mix well,

then add cold water and let Jello cool slightly

(Note: use small whisk to mix)

� Stir pudding mix into Jello

� Refrigerate for 1 hour or until thickened

� Add drained mandarin oranges

� Add mini-marshmallows (optional)

� Add Lite Cool Whip

� Mix thoroughly

� Refrigerate for a couple of hours

STaxi Voucher ProgramThe Taxi Voucher Program is a curb-to-curbtaxi service provided by the City of Cypress forqualifying Cypress seniors for medical andmedically-related appointments, groceryshopping, banking, visiting a relative in ahospital, etc. Each qualified participant mayreceive up to six vouchers per month.

Individuals must meet the following criteria:

� Cypress Resident

� Age 60 or older

� Income maximumper month of $2,712for an individual

To qualify, you must schedule an in-personappointment at the Senior Center. You willneed to bring proof of Cypress residency,United States government-issued photoidentification that shows your birth date, plusincome verification. For more informationplease call (714) 229-2005.
