CAPS Stress Management and Wellness Clinic

CAPS Stress Management and Wellness Clinic

A CAPS sponsored program Designed to address student needs specific to stress and anxiety reduction

Individual and group counseling; Outreach to campus community Students attend a screening to assess stress symptoms and the impact of stress on daily life.

Students are then assigned to a treatment protocol that meets stress and anxiety reduction needs.

Group Treatment Group and individual treatment modalities pull from empirically supported cognitive-behavioral, relaxation, and mindfulness-based treatments.

Group offerings:– Breaking Free of Stress and Anxiety– Stop Worry from Stopping You– Yoga for Stress Reduction and Health– Mindfulness Meditation– Relaxation for Stress Reduction Group– Mindfulness Therapy Group– How to Get a Good Night's Sleep

Fall: 80+ scheduled screenings (assigned to individual and/or group treatment options in fall quarter or early winter quarter)

Winter: 100+ scheduled screenings (assigned to individual and/or group treatment options in winter quarter or early spring quarter)

Between 8-11 groups per quarter, ranging from 4-10 sessions Fall: 53 group participants; 8 groups offered Winter: 84 group participants; 11 groups offered

7-10 outreach presentations per quarter Approx. 5-10 students attend each presentation

Health Center providers give "prescriptions" to patients whose medical care is enhanced by adding exercise to their weekly routine.– Students have been referred for management of

hypertension, stress, anxiety, fatigue, weight management, and glucose intolerance.

The voucher is good for – 1 personal trainer session (50 minutes) or – A 10-week pass to the fitness/exercise/yoga class of

the student's choice

The Campus Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) provides the fitness services– Value $25
