an honest-to-goodness design affair

Over the past couple weeks, my new wife has been steadily moving in and ar-ranging her vast collection of possessions, all of which I have uniformly categorized as “things,” since they are entirely foreign to me. At first, the excitement gave me en-ergy for all this arranging, but before long I began to won-der when this settling would conclude so we could actu-ally settle.

Eventually, however, the love daze faded, and as my eyes slowly adjusted to looking at something other than her, I noticed that there were things where there had not been things before, or even worse, new things where my things had previously resid-ed. At this point, very little can be done other than to fantasize passive-ag-gressively. You would agree had your epic Grecian lamps undergone such a vicious slenderizing. This week’s three are just that—objects I dream could replace the newfound subjects of disagreement in our household.

1. Don Julio Repesado Can-dle from Hipcyle - Part of me misses the carefree disasters of bachelorhood, and when I wake up groggy and stumble into a squeaky clean kitchen, it doesn’t quite feel like mine. A discarded bottle or two would be comforting, and this is a good compromise consider-ing it will smell better than the previous air freshener of spilled liquor, and replace the current, weird seasonal holiday blend candle quite nicely.

2. Grey Goose 375 ml Re-purposed Bottle by Bottle-Hood - Once upon a time I had an impressive collection of branded booze glasses. Even more impressively, through a considerable amount of ef-fort, they all wound up broken. These glasses would be the perfect replacements.

3. Recycled Bottle Lamp from VivaTerra - I understand the need for a neutral colored lamp to accent the jewelry dresser. I really do, but clear acrylic and a canvas shade with “Paris” does not consti-tute neutral feelings in me. Vi-vaTerra has solved the issue.
