Biography/ Biografie DAISY LIACOPOULOU

Daisy Liacopoulou ist 1941 in Athen, Griechenland, geboren. Nach dem Abitur, ging sie nach München, wo sie Kunstgeschichte an der Ludwig-Maximilian-Univer-sität studierte. Nach dem Studium erlernte sie das keramische Handwerk in ver-schiedenen Werkstätten. Seit 1968 arbeitet sie in eigener Werkstatt in München.Sie war immer an der keramischen Kunst und der Entwicklung neuer Formen interessiert. Ihr Interesse an der menschlichen Körperbewegung beeinflusste ihr Schaffen währed den letzten Jahren. Sie nahm an verschiedenen Ausstellungen in Deutschland und Griechenland teil. 1979 erhielt sie eine Auszeichnung bei der jährlichen Ausstellung des Griechisch-en Keramiker Verbandes in Athen. 2001 Persönliche Ausstellung in Athen, Gallerie Politeia Art. Zwei ihrer werke wurden an den 52ten Internationalen Wettbewerb für keramische Kunst in Faenza (Italien), (2001) angenommen. 2001 und 2003 wurde sie bei der Ceramic Biennale (CEBIKO) in Korea angenommen. «Special prize» 2001. 2009 ist eins ihrer Werke für die Cermica Multiplex Ausstellung in Varazdin (Kroatien) angenommen worden.

Daisy Liacopoulou has been born 1941 in Athens, Greece. After her graduation from highschool, she went to Munich, Germany, where she immatriculated for History of Arts at the University of Munich. After her studies she volunteered in several ceramic workshops in Munich. Since 1968 she works in her own work-shop in Munich.She has allways been interested in the ceramic art and the development of new forms. Her interest in body movement has influenced her ceramic work during the last years. She has participated in several expositions in Germany and Greece. 1979 she has got an award at the anual ceramic exposition of the Greec Ceramists As-sociation in Athens. Personal exibhition in Politeia Art, Athens 2001. Two of her works have been accepted for the 52th International Ceramic Art Competition in Faenza (2001), Italy. She has been accepted 2001 and 2003 at the 1st and 2nd Ceramic Biennale (CEBIKO) in Korea, where she has got a special prize (2001). One of her works has recently been accepted at the «ceramica multiplex» com-petition of the museum of Varazdin (Croatia 2009).
