But few non-Westerners know much about their thriving culture. here’s a great opportunity for them to get up to speed, as the national Arts centre celebrates the artistic life of the prairies with this showcase of 500 artists. the multidisciplinary festival includes 80 events at venues throughout the national capital region, representing every facet of the arts, from theatre to cuisine and visual arts. highlights include a performance by acclaimed violinist James ehnes, accompanied by the Winnipeg symphony orchestra, and a concert by singer-songwriter Buffy sainte-marie.
