Tomb of the Unknown SoldierPlans for a tomb for an Australian unknown soldier were first put forward in the 1920s but it was not until 1993 that someone was at last brought home. The soldier in the tomb represents all of the soldiers who fought for Australia in both wars.

The Hall of MemoryThe Hall of Memory is one of the most amazing rooms in the Was Memorial. There are four pillars in the Hall, which are locate behind the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, they represent the four ancient elements: Earth, air, fire and water. The walls are covered with one of the world's largest mosaics, including over six million enamelled glass tiles.

Nurses from Zululand to AfghanistanNurses from Zululand to Afghanistan is an exhibition in the Australian War Memorial which is not permanent. This exhibition shows the nurses who worked from the 1700s through to now. It displays all the effort nurses put in to help Australian soldiers. This effort has gone unnoticed for quite a while.

ANZAC HallThe ANZAC hall is a recreation of the operation used in order to bomb Berlin in 1943. it replicates the experiences people went through during this time and how they were treated.

Entrance and Commemorative Courtyard.The entrance and commemorative courtyard welcomes visitors into the Australian War Memorial. There is a long wall within the Commemorative courtyard which has all the names of soldiers who have passed away during the war.

The Hall of ValourThe Hall of Valour honours all of the soldiers who fought for Australia is the wars. On display are many medals, certificates and artefacts. 2

Parliament House

New Parliament House-New Parliament house was opened in 1988. The House of Representatives is in there and it is where bills and debates are held.

The Great Hall Tapestry-The Great hall is located in New Parliament House. It is well known for the huge Arthur Boyd inspired tapestry. I am looking forward to seeing all the detail in the tapestry, as well as seeing the size of it.

Parliament Sitting- Parliament sitting is held in the House of Representatives. The government and the opposition put forward bills hoping to turn them into laws, if they pass the Governor Generals consent.

Old Parliament House-Old parliament House was in use until1988, when new Parliament House was opened. Old Parliament House is now known as The Museum of Australian Democracy.

Political Porcelain-Political Porcelain is an art exhibition, using porcelain to display the artists feelings and perspective on Australias politics and democracy. Penny Byrne is the artist of the sculptures. It is located in Old Parliament House

Designing Democracy-Designing Democracy is an exhibition in old parliament house. This exhibition shows the long road Australia had to travel before finally becoming a democratic country. It is in Old Parliament House.3

National MuseumEternity-Eternity is a gallery in the museum displaying 50 lives of famous Australians. It is based upon 10 different themes: joy, hope, passion, mystery, thrill, loneliness, fear, devotion, separation and chance.

The Olympic Medals of John Konrads-An exhibit I am looking forward to seeing is the Olympic Swimming Medals of John Konrads. He was a multiple world record breaker and swimming champion. The medals John Konrads won at the Rome, 1960 and Melbourne, 1956 Olympic Games are on display

Garden of Australian Dreams-The Garden of Dreams is surrounded by water with a few trees and plants around. The surface of the Garden of Australian Dreams is a map, the word home is written in one hundred different languages all over this map. One step on the map is equivalent to 100 kilometres across the real Australian land.

Crimson thread of KinshipCrimson thread of Kinship is a 12 metre long embroidery. It begins with the aboriginal occupation of Australia and finishes with the southern night sky.

MenagerieMenagerie is an exhibition which displays aboriginal artwork. It shows traditional aboriginal sculptures and paintings.

Australian JourneysAustralian journeys is an exhibition which looks at Australias connections with the world. It highlights the stories of many people who arrive in Australia each year, they say there id over 11 million.

Freefall-Freefall is a permanent exhibiton. It is a 6 metre slide which drops you vertically.

H2O-H2O is a permanent exhibiton based all around water. There are 16 interactive exhibits so that visitors can learn about how water behaves when it is boiling, freezing or manufactured.

Wonderworks-Wonderworks is a fairly new exhibition which explores the beauty of science. The patterns, the shapes, the colours and many more.

Optimusic-Optimusic is an exhibition makes visitors compose a piece of music without any musical instruments5
