There are over 3000 varieties of tea, not including botanicals and fruit infusions. To be a tea, it must come from the camellia sinensis plant. There are several varieties of this plant, producing many types of teas. Types depend on the manufacturing and crafting of the leaf.

What is tea?

The flavor profiles and quality change year to year, like wine, and is influenced by soil, temperature, rainfall, elevation and other elements in nature. Even the botanicals growing nearby can affect the flavors of the tea.

Along time ago there was a Emperor named Shen Nung in China. In 2737 B.C. one day the emperor was boiling water. In that time the emperor was not able to recognize a leaf from the bushes to falling into the pot of boiling water. When he came back to drink hot water ,he could smell a fragrance which he had never smelt before. The scent was beautiful and the taste was fantastic. It is the origin of tea.

Oolong Tea falls somewhere between green tea and black tea in the amount of time the tea leaves are allowed to oxidized.Herbal Tea is not really tea at all. Herbal teas are made from seeds, roots, flowers or other parts of plants and herb. They are often blended to make unique tasting infusions.Flavored Tea is black tea that’s soaked in natural or artificial flavors.

Green tea is made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing.

Black Tea is allowed to oxidized which ‘ripens” the tea and creates a deep, rich, robust flavor with uniqueness based on the tea grower’sKnowledge and skill.

First, the tea plants must be grown for 5 years and should be 4 feet long. When it is 4 feet tall it is time for the tea leaves to be harvested. If you want high quality leaves pick the buds and the leaves at the top, if you want low quality don’t throw it away. Pick the 2 leaves at the top and one at the bottom and the twigs too. Spread the leaves on shelves and let them dry. After that put them into a rolling machine and leave them in the fermenting room until they turn a blackish reddish colour. Next dry the leaves again and pack the tea in teabags, cans or any kind of fully closed storages.
