serviceset identifiers(SSIDs)tofurtherhelpsegmentusersonthenetwork.The

DAP-2590alsoincludesawirelessclientisolationmechanismtolimitdirectclient-

to-clientcommunication.

Additionally,theDAP-2590supportsNetworkAccessProtection(NAP),whichisa

featureofMicrosoft®WindowsServer2008.NAPallowsnetworkadministratorsto

definemultiplelevelsofnetworkaccessbasedontheneedsofindividualclients.

Ifaclientisidentifiedoutsideoftheiraccessarea,theclientwillbeautomatically

broughtbacktotheirpermittednetworkaccesslevel.

Multiple Operation ModesThe DAP-2590 can be configured to optimise network performance based on

any one of its multiple operation modes: Access Point, Wireless Distribution

System (WDS) with Access Point, WDS/Bridge (No AP Broadcasting) and

Wireless Client.WithWDS support, network administrators can set upmultiple

DAP-2590sthroughoutafacilityandconfigurethemtobridgewithoneanother

whileprovidingnetworkaccess to individualclients.Advanced featuressuchas

LoadBalancingarealsoavailable,whichoptimiseshighnetwork trafficvolume,

andredundancyforfail-safewirelessconnectivity.SpanningTreeProtocolsupport

allowsgreaterefficiencyandavoidsbroadcaststormswhenusedinWDSmode.

Network ManagementNetwork administrators have multiple options for managing the wireless

NDualBandPoEAccessPoint includingWeb(HTTP),SecureSocketsLater (SSL,

whichprovidesforasecureconnectiontotheInternet),SecureShell(SSH,which

providesforasecurechannelbetweenlocalandremotecomputers),andTelnet

(bi-directional, eight-bit byte oriented communications facility). For advanced

networkmanagement,administratorscanusetheD-LinkAPManagerIIorD-View

SNMPv3managementmoduletoconfigureandmanagemultipleaccesspoints

fromasinglelocation.Inadditiontoastreamlinedmanagementprocess,theAP
