Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow! We give glory to God for His extended grace, marvelous mercies, and phenomenal favor. As we have

come to the close of another fiscal year of favor, we have so much to praise God for. He has shown Himself

faithful and mighty to us in so many phenomenal ways. Tabernacle, we have collectively accomplished many

great things together through God’s providential guidance and provisions of grace. As we close out this year,

we pause in deep gratitude to God for all of His bountiful blessings. We look back over this year in reflective

thanksgiving for what He has done. This is our history. We also look expectantly by faith in God and position

ourselves for 2018 and beyond, which is our destiny. God has marvelously shown us what He has done

through us as His testimony. I am thoroughly convinced that if we whole-heartedly trust Him, obey His Word,

follow His Spirit-led directions, and live in faithful fellowship with Him, God will show us even greater miraculous

manifestations. One of my favorite Biblical affirmations is Jeremiah 33:3. God says, “Call on Me, and I will

answer you and shew you great and mighty things which you did not know.” This is just God’s countless

providential promises. I believe God wants to do greater and mightier things in our lives.

Earlier this year, the LORD gave me a sermon series that has become a rhema word and a powerful

mantra for our church: “Elevate Your Faith and Expand Your Thinking.” As we prayerfully prepare for 2018, the

LORD said, add to this faith mantra, “Expect Greater from God!” Thus, our thematic focus for 2018 and beyond

is, “Elevate Your Faith, Expand Your Thinking, & Expect Greater from God!” (Isa. 55; Job 5:8-9; Eph. 3:20) I

believe in the power of God’s divine possibilities. We must position ourselves in God through Christ to do the

greater Kingdom work He has called us to for His glory. As a 21st century church we are not called to just talk

church or to do church work within the confines of the wall with a business as usual mentality. God is calling us

to be Christ-Centered, externally focused and a forward-thinking church. This means our focus should not just

be on our own issues, needs, and concerns. God is calling us to look beyond the walls of Tabernacle to see the

hurting, hungry, the hopeless, and the homeless in the greater Gaston County region and the world. The

Christian mandate for the church hasn’t changed: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the

works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father (John 14:12).

Jesus’ Resurrection Mandate has not changed either:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore into all the world and make

disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt.

28:19-20).

Our “greater” in God is not just what He does for us, but what He has called us to do for His glory. I pray

that God will ignite our individual and collective passion to be a greater witness for God through extended

ministries and global outreach. When we follow His plan, we can experience His unlimited possibilities and

promises. Stay Focus & Watch God!

Elevate, Expand, & Expect!

Dr. Benjamin Hinton, Senior Pastor

Our Father, The giver and maker of every good and perfect gift to You be glory. Sometimes when I look back over my life and I search for what I could say to You to let You know how I feel in my heart about how You have blessed me and kept me from seen and unseen dangers and the secret counsel of the enemy. I say thank You and I say Hallelujah and yet You are worthy of so much more. Father, it’s almost the dawning of another year You have allowed me to be in the mist and for that I say thank You. Father, I don’t know about tomorrow but I know You do because the sun has set on so many loved ones this past year. I know it is a reminder that there is an appointed time on the way for me and I pray I will be ready when it comes. Thank You for the legacy of loved ones that we can remember and rejoice in the mist of our tears. So today I pray for the body of Christ and the TBC family that we can forget those things that tried our Faith in 2017 but pushed us to a new level of hearing the voice of God and staying focus on your word that will stand forever and no body is mad but the devil (LOL). In the name of Jesus, I pray, I (we) refuse to except any wrong demonic prayers, wrong words, declarations and decrees spoken over this house and the body of Christ. The Lord rebuke future schemes, plans, distraction of all types, mind control and demonic evil influences in 2018. I thank Him in the name of Jesus for the shifting in the spirit. I thank You for Bible Study classes that will increase so we will be equipping the Saints for Victorious Kingdom Living in 2 Timothy 2:15-17, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God a worker who does not need to be ashamed righty dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babbling, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer.” I thank You for whatever we are believing You for in 2018. It’s already done! Father, Oh! How I love You, Oh! How I praise You for just being my Father. You just keep on blessing me over and over again. Most of all Father, I thank You for the lost souls on their way for salvation in the name of Jesus. “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (I Corinthian 2:9). I pray this pray in the mighty name of Jesus as I wait in expectation for Your Will to be done. Amen & Amen The Intercessory Prayer Ministry

Saving for the New Year

According to Moody Analytics, young Americans have stopped saving money and by young we are talking about

adults under the age of 35 – the so called millennial generation. That compares with a positive savings rate of about

3 percent for that age 35 to 44; 6 percent for those 45 to 54 and 14 percent for those 55 and older. Find a minute

to find yourself in the statistical lineup. Are you behind or ahead in the savings game? If you aren’t saving you need

to be. And if you are, you need to save more. Start the New Year off by making a plan and sticking to it. Listed

below are five ways that any determined person really can spend less to save more.

1. Become your favorite creditor. Take an envelope and write your name and the amount you intend to save

from each paycheck and place it in the front of your “Bills to Pay” file. Make this the first bill you pay each

month. If you use online bill pay, add your savings account as the number one creditor – the most important

bill that is paid automatically each month.

2. Stash a C note. Crash-save until you have enough in coins and currency to exchange for a crisp new $100 bill.

Stash it into a very safe place known only to you. Whenever you get the urge to purchase something or feel

overcome by a case of the “I wants,” tell yourself, OK you’ll need to go home and that $100 bill. For some

reason, the urge will pass quickly. Knowing you can if you want but choose not to has a wonderful

preventive effect. You are going to be amazed.

3. Live on Less. Rein in your lifestyle so that it fits into 80 percent of your net income. Reduce spending in

every area of your life by a small amount and you will be able to achieve this probably sooner than you ever

dreamed. The other 20 percent? Tithe 10 percent and save 10 percent. You’ll never be broke again. Not to

mention giving fills your soul with gratitude and contentment.

4. Attack toxic debt. High-rate credit-card debt is dangerous for your wealth and your health! Make a plan to

pay off all your credit-card debts quickly. Yes this is going to require sacrifice, but it will be for a short time.

Reaching $0 balances on all credit cards is critical to your financial health.

5. Consider cash. It’s a proven fact that you spend about 30 percent more if you depend on plastic (debit or

credit cards) to pay for day-to-day spending. Leave the plastic at home. Live as much as possible with cash

and save the difference. Inconvenient? Yes. That’s the point.

Until next time
