The sixth is the final edition, the last to be revised by Darwin, quite extensively re-written, and includes a new chapter in refutation of objections to his theory, especially those of St. George Mivart, the Roman Catholic biologist. This was also the first edition to drop the word ‘ON’ from the title and the first edition of the ‘Origin’ to use the word ‘evolution’. The Glossary was compiled by W. S.
