2 GENERAL
2.1 PURPOSE
The scope of this document is the Data Sheet of Remote Elevated Water Monitor within Oil
Storage Tanks Area (Unit 620 and Unit 640) and Process Units (U-100, U-110, U-120, U-130,
U-140, U-150, U-160, U-190, U-430, U-450, U-662) according to design specification and
standards used in the AEGEAN REFINERY project.
2.2 OBJECTIVES
This specification describes the Scope of Supply for the Conquest, Hydraulic Actuated Remote
Control Monitor project and is limited to the following:
Conquest Remote Controlled Hydraulic Monitor
Pressure Balanced or Fixed Orifice Nozzle for Monitor.
Hydraulic Control Unit for Remote Controlled Monitor.

5 DEFINITIONS
5.1 GENERAL DEFINITIONS
The following words and expressions used in the Specification have the following meanings:
OWNER shall mean STAR Refinery A.Ş. (STAR)
ENGINEER means ÇİMTAŞ.
VENDOR shall mean any part who delivers equipment and materials for

PROJECT means Fixed Fire Fighting system rehabilitation and U-630/640 LPG unit &
Impounding basin area Fire Fighting system rehabilitation of STAR Refinery A.Ş.(STAR) at
Aliağa, TURKEY
FACILITIES/UNITS shall mean the entire facilities, units, and plants where fire fighting
systems to be rehabilitated in conformity with the PROJECT requirements and scope that
ENGINEER meet its liabilities as defined in the agreement on, under, in or through
OWNER’s JOBSITE.
JOBSITE shall mean OWNER’s property land at IZMIR – ALIAĞA, TURKEY on, under, in
or through which the required FACILITIES for rehabilitation of fire fighting systems.
6 MONITOR
Flow rates are 4.000 gpm and 5.000 gpm. The Spectrum Electro/Hydraulic High
Volume/Remote Control Monitor is operated remotely through the use of a joystick and switches
on a consolidated control panel. Manual operation can also be accomplished locally through the
use of hand wheels.
Two hydraulic actuators installed on the monitor enable remote control of horizontal position, as
well as vertical trajectory. Maximum travel is limited to 340 degrees horizontal travel and from
minus (-)70degree to plus (+)70 degree vertical travel. Monitor traversing speed is at least 8

degrees per second. A direct-mounted linear hydraulic actuator enables remote operation for
the nozzle's discharge pattern, from wide fog to straight stream. Weather protective cowlings
are provided over all gears and shafts. Remote control hydraulic monitor with 8” FF inlet Flat
Face Flange and outlet size is Ambassador Nozzle. Paint & finish should be red color RAL
3000, RAL 3001 or RAL 3002.
Stainless steel monitor (waterway) with red epoxy finish. Includes lifting lug for handling and mounting. Stainless steel swivels with stainless steel ball bearings. Steel/bronze gears. Nickel plated brass shaft. Anodized aluminum fog/straight stream nozzle. For more technical details, please refer to 000-P-ZD-0190001-015
7 NOZZLE
Williams Ranger 3+ Nozzle is an adjustable stream/fog nozzle. The nozzle comes equipped with a pressure balanced baffle designed to flow 1000 – 4000 gpm at an approximate pressure of 100 psi. Pattern from straight stream to 80 degree. Full fog shall be manually controlled via a full wrap-around handle.
Ambassador Nozzle is an adjustable stream/fog nozzle. The nozzle comes equipped with a pressure balanced baffle designed to flow 1000 – 5000 gpm at an approximate pressure of 100 psi. Pattern from straight stream to 80 degree. Full fog shall be manually controlled via a full wrap-around handle.
