I am a member of the volunteer planning committee and this second annual concert and tasting event is our way of kicking off the United Way’s annual campaign to raise community awareness and attract new friends to help us meet considerable needs of citizens throughout 16 counties in the St. Louis area.

Our plans for this year’s Chocolate, Wine & All That Jazz include a performance by the internationally-renowned jazz singer Denise Thimes and libations from local chocolatiers and wineries. It is our goal to sell-out the event and help more people than we did last year. We cannot do this without the support of businesses and individuals like you.

Last year, more than 200 guests enjoyed chocolate, wine and jazz under the stars, while raising over $10,000 for the United Way. Just how far does that $10,000 go? It means job skills and training programs for 10 people to obtain full-time employment or 20 months of food to feed families in crisis.

Generous sponsors made it possible to distribute 100% of those proceeds to programs that help people in our region. In turn, we promoted their businesses in all promotional materials, tickets, at the event and online. Sponsors are even listed on the United Way web site, accessible to more than 2,500 companies and their 200,000 plus employees who support the United Way.
