Cherry Trees residents and staff support Barley our P.A.T dog with her owner Paula every year at Crufts dog show. We are always there at 3pm as this is the time that Barley goes into the show ring. People are able to see the good work that the Pets as Therapy organisation performs. One of our residents even entered the ring with Barley so that the audience could see the interaction between them. People were moved by the love between them and the resident said: “This is marvelous”. We saw lots of breeds of dogs at the show, some big, some small. Next time we might even take a bag big enough to smuggle a pooch home! Barley visits Cherry Trees on a regular basis and we even have a 'Barley biscuit box' that the residents and staff can give her a treat from to say thank you for visiting. Message from the Manager I am pleased to announce that our new dining room in Memory Lane is now open after being refurbished. Please look out for lots of other changes happening in the home in the next few months. For our Comic Relieffun, the residentsdecided they weregoing to create a selfportrait of themselveswith a big red nose.

We had lots of funcreating the portraitsand even more fun atthe end trying to guesswho was who!

We raised £105 pounds selling cakes on our cakestall and selling tickets for Pushpa, our GeneralManager, to exchange places for the day with oneof our care team. Angus won the raffle and gets tohave a day off with Pushpa stepping into hisshoes for 12 hours!

Cherry Trees is pleased to welcome some lovelyvolunteers who will becoming for the firstTuesday of every monthto teach and assist ourresidents in the art of crochet.

Our first session was a great hit with bothresidents and staff

learning new skills. Some of ourresidents who have never attempted this beforeenjoyed it so much they cannot wait for next time.

If you are interested in joining in or just popping infor a cup of coffee and cake you are very welcome.
