PRINCIPALS REPORT
Ramingining Family Disco Only one more sleep to what should be a fun filled night with lots of dancing, yummy food, great
raffles and awesome auction items. We hope to see you at the Cockatoo Community Centre
tomorrow night. Disco starts at 5:00pm and ends at 10:00pm.
Football Clinic There was much excitement in the office on Monday morning around 9.30am when we were told that
two footballers from Richmond Football Club were coming to our school to run clinics with our
students. Corey Ellis and Troy Chaplin arrived at 1.00pm to find many thrilled students and staff.
From all accounts the clinics were fantastic and a great time was had by all.
Lamont Book Fair Once again we have organised a book fair through Lamont Books. On Monday 27th July, families will
be able to purchase books at the book fair from 3:30pm until 6:30pm. This year the book fair is being
held in the music room. Students that are unable to make it that evening will have the opportunity to
bring money and purchase books the following day. The more books we sell the more books we will
be able to get for our Library which is currently in the process of being revamped thanks to our
Library committee.
Education State Education influences every corner of our society and is the key to ensuring our state remains one of
the world’s best places to live in decades ahead. It is vital that to ensure we remain the Education
State we are able to put our ideas forward and have them heard. A website has been set up for
anyone wishing to have their say about Victoria’s Education. Any ideas that you may want to put
forward can be done so at www.education.vic.gov.au/Pages/educationstate.aspx
Parent Opinion Survey Every year a random computer generated group of families are asked to complete the Annual Parent
Opinion Survey that is conducted by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
(DEECD). All information remains confidential and is sent to DEECD for analysis. Later this year we
will receive the results of this survey which is then discussed with the staff and presented to school
council. The results assist us in setting targets and goals to improve our school. Please check your
child’s bag on Monday for an orange envelope. If you find one it means that you were one of the
lucky ducks randomly chosen to complete the survey. Please return them to school as soon as
possible. Thank you for your anticipated support.
Cyberbullying As technology has become such an integral part of life there are continuous changes with policies
and parliamentary Acts. A newly formed Office of the Children’s eSafety and has been established
under the Enhancing Online Safety for Children Act 2015. This office will follow up on complaints of
cyberbullying and work in conjunction with social media sites. For further information please go to
www.esafety.gov.au
Hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.

We have some FANTASTIC news to share with you- Woolworths Earn and Learn is back!! The Earn and Learn program is a wonderful opportunity for our school to ‘earn’ points that we can redeem with one of the leading school supply stores. These points will be shared across the school and will allow levels to get ‘bonus’ items that they would like. We need your help though. We have set a target of 20, 000 points. Which means that as of Wednesday the 15th of July, when the earn and learn program opens at all Woolworths stores we would love it if your family, extended family, neighbor’s etc. could collect stickers for our school. These stickers can be sent to school, either on a sticker card or we will put them onto a card. The Earn and Learn program will run until Tuesday the 8th of September. This gives us 55 days to collect as many stickers as we can. We can do it!! We will let you know, via the website our weekly total. So make sure you start collecting the stickers. Remember every $10 spent earns you a sticker. Thank you in anticipation Sarah Wintle
