Dear Families,
We welcome Miss Micallef back from her leave. We hope she had a great time on her travels.
The Year 5 and 6 students had a wonderful time at camp last week. They participated in many activities – giant
swing, flying fox and crate stacking, just to name a few. I would like to thank all the staff who attended the camp –
Miss Manolakakis, Miss Capuano, Miss Rhiannon, Mr Marasco, Mrs Kylie, Miss Jane, Miss Alanah, Mrs Collison,
Mrs Azarnikow, Mrs Gallivan, Miss Biddlestone, Miss Teagan, Ms Cathy, Mr Chris, Mr Adam, Miss Genevieve,
Miss Rose, Miss Nadia, Ms Libby, Miss Melissa, Miss Cook and Ms Michele. If it were not for these staff giving of
their time so generously, there would be no camps. I would also like to thank the students for the way they mixed
with, and supported, each other. I received so much feedback from the Camp Manyung staff about how good the
children were – I was very proud of every single one of them. Thanks also to the staff that remained at school and
took on extra responsibilities during Camp Week.
A reminder that our Middle students attend camp next week. I know the children are really looking forward to it.
Please remember to have your child at St Paul’s School by 8.30am on the day they depart and pick them up from
St Paul’s School at 2.30pm on the day they return from camp. I am sure the children will have a great time.
I remind families that applications for Year 7 in 2021 for Catholic Secondary Schools must be in by Friday,
23rd August. Our Year 5 students must enrol by this date if they wish to attend a Catholic Secondary School. Your
child will not be accepted if the enrolment form is not handed in to the secondary school of your choice on time.
Please feel free to join us for a very special Mass the Feast Day of St. Mary MacKillop / Grandparents Mass on
Thursday, 8th August. The Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church and will begin at 9.15am. Grandparents will be
able to visit the children in their classrooms after Mass and then join us for Morning Tea.
There will be no school for students on Thursday August 15th as staff will be completing professional development on
CASEA – please see below for further information.
Have a great week!
Yours sincerely,
Damian Casamento

The art piece titled ‘Unstable Core’ by Ulrich Aguinaldo (SJS) was recently on display at the Footscray Art Prize 2019 in the ‘Young Artists’ category. This exhibition was held at VU MetroWest for a month with many guests admiring Ulrich’s work. We have been very proud to have Ulrich represent our school.
