wo days Refresher Training programme for the empanelled Resource Persons of SIRD & PR was
conducted during 30-31 January,2017 in Hall No-1 of SIRD, Bhubaneswar. 24 number of participants
from different districts attended the said training Course. .Sri P.K.Nayak, Faculty ETC,SIRD, Bhubaneswar
was the Course Coordinator of this Programme.
At the outset Course Coordinator Mr P K
Nayak welcomed all the participants and extend
thanks for their assistance and contribution towards
conduct of field level training programme for the PRI
Members. He again emphasized and advised all the
participants to be sincere and more concentrated
during the different sessions. .Then after the
introduction of participants Asst Director SIRD & PR
Mrs Amita Patra also welcomed all the participants
and extended gratitude to all the RPS for the new
assignment. She briefed the objectives of the said
training Programme and told that it is a great challenge for SIRD& PR to impart training to the newly elected
PRI Representatives across the state within six months soon after the assumption of charges by the PRI
Members..Accordingly more Resource Persons have to be engaged. She again reiterated that steps will be
taken to provide newly developed Resource
Materials to the RPs before the field level
training to be started during the month of April
or May 2017. All the participants were advised
to be well conversant with all the present
guidelines of different concepts and also to be
more dedicated so that right message will be
disseminated to the newly elected PRI
Representatives during the field level training
course in the coming days.
Course Coordinator Sri P.K.Nayak extended vote of thanks to all the members present during the
course.
A knowledge assessment test was conducted among the participants in the beginning session of the
day . Question paper containing 30 no of objective type questions, basing on Training subject matter was
provided to each participant for answering all the questions within 15 minutes.
Containing day wise different sessions, a programme schedule of the training course has been
attached basing on 2 days training course on different sessions . Different sessions as per design were taken

up by different RPs and faculties. Methodologies which were used during the different sessions are Group
participation, discussion presentation ,lecture, PPT, Flip Chart and interaction.
After completion of introductory chapter
and role of GP and Sarpanches there in, all
participants were formed into 4 Groups consisting
5 to 6 members in each Group and were assigned
with different topics for presentation as per the
programme schedule after being thoroughly
prepared by them .Each group was mentored by a
faculty on the following topics to guide them in
proper way for preparation of report on the
assigned subject. It was instructed to all the Group
members that members from each Group will
make some presentation as per assignment and other members will observe the entire presentation and give
their feedback to add some values if anything left out by the presenter. Then other Resource Persons and also
the Course Coordinator will give their remarks on the presentation thematically and bridge the gap in a
comprehensive manner .They will also assess the quality performance of all RPs in their individual presentation
Following topics were assigned to the group for presentation
Group 1 : Objectives and provisions in NRLM, Odisha livelihood mission ,GPLF,CLF ,SGP and
role of Sarpanches.
Group 2 : Objectives and provisions in MGNREGS and role of GP and Sarpanches.
Group 3 : Objectives and provisions in CFC and SFC and role of GP and Sarpanches.
Group 4 : Objectives and provisions in Rural Housing Scheme ,GGY and role of GP and
Sarpanches.
Then Participants were advised to demonstrate on
conduct of a GP Meeting and Role of Sarpanch .First of all
Mrs Sujata Mohanty RP briefed on the subject matter of
GP Meeting and guided all the participants to do the
needful demonstration. Participants practically
demonstrated immaculately on conduct of a GP Meeting
,subject matter discussed thereon and proceedings
The first session of the day was taken by Mr S.K
Patra and P.K Nayak, Faculties on the subject matter of
Financial Management and Role of Sarapanch, and official
members. In an interactive way, session was taken and all
participants were closely associated .Details of public
Properties management issues were also discussed in the
session .
Next session was taken up by Dr. S. K. Mishra, Asst
Director SIRD & PR on GPDP who comprehensively discussed on this subject through a presentation.
In the post lunch session panel of RP Members from Education, NRHM, Rural water and Sanitation ,Social
Security and Civil supply Cooperation Department were invited who presented their departmental activities
comprehensively linking role of sarpanches and GPs.
Participants were asked to put questions on their doubts which was more interactive
Before the closing session ,all participants were provided with group photograph along with Training
completion certificates after which , vote of thanks was extended to the Director, Deputy Director , Asst.
Directors, Faculties SIRD & PR and also to all the RPs ,participants and other support staff for their support
and assistance for successful completion of the training programme..

During two days course, almost all the RPs were participating thoroughly in the discussion process after presentation of Group wise reports. Doubts and other queries relating to Training programme were also clarified .
