    Day Begins Day

    Shalom ...

This is a study presenting some Scriptures that suggest that YHWH's Days begin and end in themorning. If this be the case, we will see that His weekly Sabbaths begin and end in the morningalso. These verses and comments are not to question our heavenly Father's ways, but truly tounderstand them. To ensure that we haven't carried on some of man's traditions and are trulyfollowing the complete truth of YHWH. Having previously followed the sunset to sunset Sabbathfor many years without really understanding how Days couldbegin at the end of the daytimelight. By definition from Elohim, He called the light, 'day'. Logically, thinking the break ofdaylight was the dawning of each new "Day" thinking that daybreak means literally "The Day

break" or "The break between Days".

For clarity, in this study, "Day" is capitalized when referring to a full Day that ends the next Day

and is written day when referring to the daylight portion of a Day. This is a search for thecomplete truth and hopefully presented without bias, as one who is free to keep Sabbath at anytime of the Day but wanting to be obedient to YaH in His ways including in His timing of a

weekly Sabbath rest on every seventh Day.

    HalleluYaH!

Here are some of the Scriptures that seem to support a morning to morning, dawn to dawnsequence to YHWH's Days ...

    Part 1

Let's begin at the beginning ...

Genesis 1:1In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:2And the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on theface of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim was moving on the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:3 And Elohim said, "Let light come to be," and light came to be.

Genesis 1:4 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good. And Elohim separated the light from thedarkness.

Elohimis light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 Yohanan 1:5), created the heavens and

earth. Then the earthbecomes formless and empty and darkness was on the deep. TheInterlinear Scripture Analyzer from the Hebrew states it as "and the earth she-became chaosand vacancy and darkness over surfaces of abyss". Interesting to note is that the darkness wasonlydescribed on the deep or over the abyss. Also that we seeYeshayahu 45:18 literally states

"Assuredly like this says, , created sky Elohim Himself, moulded earth made He set up

created not desolate moulded to remain, I nothing more".

Elohim, who is light, spoke light and saw the light that it was good. He then separates thelight from the darkness. He shows a strong preference to the light.

Genesis 1:5And Elohim called the light day and the darkness He called night.

And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the

first day.We see in this verse the description of His first Day is by calling light 'day', as it is mentionedfirst and this is followed by the darkness 'night'. And then there came to be evening, which is the

beginning of 'night' and then there came to be morning, which is the beginning of 'day', the nextDay. Let's look at this verse again as one sentence.

Genesis 1:5 And Elohim called the light day' and the darkness He called night' and there cameto be evening and there came to be morning, the first day.

OrAnd Elohim called the light day' and there came to be evening and the darkness He callednight' and there came to be morning, day one. First there is [light/day] followed by[darkness/night], as there came to be [evening/dusk] and thenthere came to be

[morning/dawn/daybreak], which ends the first Day ... day + night + day (break) = Day One (orone Day). Verse 5 begins with day, with all of its light, and follows with night, with all of it'sdark, including the beginning of this darker period called evening. After this we see morningagain which signals the end of that 24 hour Day and the beginning of the next one.

Again, The Interlinear Scripture Analyzer translating from the Hebrew states it as "And He iscalling Elohim to the light day and to the darkness He calls night and He is becoming eveningand He is becoming morning day one."

Or "Elohim calls the light, day and the dark He calls night, evening and morning exists the firstday." Day, evening, night, morning is one day.

In either of the ways, in the entire context of the verse 5, we first see "day + night" including

evening and right up until "dawn or daybreak" is the first Day as it says "and there came to bemorning". Apparently, the first Daystarted in the "light" and ended in the "next light" as thenext Daybegan. If we continue we see what happens at this beginning of Day 2.

Genesis 1:6 And Elohim said, "Let an expanse come to be in the midst of the waters, and let itseparate the waters from the waters."

Genesis 1:7 And Elohim made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under theexpanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it came to be so.

Genesis 1:8 And Elohim called the expanse heavens. And there came to be evening and therecame to be morning, the second day.

It appears YHWH is doing His creating during the daylight portion of the Day and then therecame to be evening and then there came to be morning (daybreak or dawn) signaling the end ofDay 2 and the beginning of Day 3. He is the only Light as this is before He the sun and moon, soas He creates it is light as He stops it becomes dark. We see that this may be an example that Heis setting for us as later in many, many Scriptures we see that most work is mentioned as during

the day (Yohanan 9:4,5). And we see this pattern continues ...

Genesis 1:9 And Elohim said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into oneplace, and let the dry land appear." And it came to be so.

Genesis 1:10 And Elohim called the dry land earth, and the collection of the waters He called

    3/35

seas. And Elohim saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:11 And Elohim said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the plant that yields seed, and the

fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth." And it cameto be so.

Genesis 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, the plant that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And Elohim saw that it

    was good.

Genesis 1:13 And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the thirdday.

Genesis 1:14 And Elohim said, Let lights come to be in the expanse of theheavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs andappointed times, and for days and years,

The lights are to separate day from night (in that order of day then night) and to signaltheFestivals, days and years.

Genesis 1:15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light onthe earth. And it came to be so.

Genesis 1:16 And Elohim made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day,and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars.

The sequence provided here is first, the greater light to rule the dayfollowed by thelesser light. We see a second witness that these two great lights are the sun and moon

    in Psalm 136:7-9

Psalm 136:7 To Him who made great lights, For His kindness is everlasting;Psalm 136:8 The sun to rule by day, For His kindness is everlasting;Psalm 136:9 The moon and stars to rule by night, For His kindness is everlasting.

Again the sequential order is first, the sun to rule dayin verse 8 followed by the moonand stars rule night in verse 9.

Genesis 1:17 And Elohim set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on theearth,

Genesis 1:18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate thelight from the darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good.

To rule over the Day is mentioned again first and then night as Elohim creates the sun, moon and stars to align with his already established order of His days. Day to eveningand night to morning.

Genesis 1:19 And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the fourthday.

So we see this similar pattern until ...

Genesis 1:31 And Elohim saw all that He had made, and sees, it was very good. And there came

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    4/35

to be evening and there came to be morning, the sixth day.

The end of the Day 6 and the beginning of Day 7, the Sabbath Day.

Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day Elohim completed His work which He had done, and Herested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

Literally word-for-word from the Hebrew this verse states, Seventh day Elohiym end labourwhich made Shabath seventh day out of all labour made.

On the seventh DAY Elohim ceased work and He calls the light, DAY which is saying on theseventh LIGHT is the Sabbath as He calls the light DAY. (Genesis 1:5)

Genesis 2:3 And Elohim blessed the seventh dayand set it apart, because on it He rested fromall His work which Elohim in creating had made.

Please note that there is no more account for the order of the days as there is NO verse

that says "And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the seventhday". YHWH has given us the order of His days. First the light, as in the creation ofHis first Day, followed by the darkness of night beginning with dusk or evening andthen the dawn or morning "boqer", as it is transliterated from Hebrew to also mean"daybreak", which then "breaks up the Days" and thus ENDING one Day and bydoing so begins a new Day. In Genesis 1:5, it does NOT say that it was night timeand it was daytime which made one Day. The Scriptures version says is "there came tobe evening", which means that the period of the daytime came to an end and the lightdisappeared. And then it says "there came to be morning,"which means that theperiod of the night time came to an end and the morning dawned; hence one wholeDay was completed.

Literally from the Hebrew it says "Elohim calls illumination day, dark calls night.Dusk, dawn exist first day." First He calls day followed by night, with dusk separatingthe day from the night with the dawn to begin the next Day.

    Part 2

Some other verses that seem to support YHWH's morning to morning Day with comments afterthe verses ...

Leviticus 6:20 ...beginning on the daywhen he is anointed: ... half of it in the morningandhalf of it at night.

This suggests that the order of the Day here is first morning and then night. It appears that Dayincludes morning and night in that order. Now the word commonly used in many translationsfor 'night' is the Hebrew word commonly used for 'evening'. Either way, this shows and orderthatbeginning on the daythis offering begins first in the morning. Presumably as this is

    when each Day begins.

Leviticus 7:15,16 ... it is eaten the same dayit is offered, he does not leave any of ituntil morning. ... it is eaten the same day... andwhat is left of it is eaten thenext day,

The same Day exists until the morning which is deemed to be the next Day.

Sabbath celebration on into that night that followed that Sabbath day and until the nextdaybreak. Either way, the next Day was marked as at daybreak

Looking at a more literal translation, from the Interlinear Scripture Analyzer, of Acts 20:7...In yet one of the Sabbaths of having been together led us to break bread the Shaul thru said tothem that being about to out be (to be off) to the on-morrow beside stretched (he prolonged)

besides the saying (word) unto midnight.

In the Scriptures version, with the correction from "the first day of the week" to the correct "firstof the Sabbath or one of the Sabbaths", we see ...

And on "one of the Sabbaths", the taught ones having gathered together to break bread, Shaul, intending to depart the next day, was reasoning with them and was extending the word tillmidnight.

Literally, word for word, Acts 20:7 says "And on the first the Sabbath the learners convened

breaking bread Sha'ul discussing, himself intending leaving the tomorrow, also extended alongreasoning up to midnight."

And verse 11 supports this again literally, word for word ..."But going up and breaking breadand eating also conversing superimposing competently until dawn, in this way issued."

This now is literally written as a Sabbath day meeting that ended at dawn of the first day andNOT, as often quoted as evidence of a first day meeting.

    Part 3

Here is an overwhelming amount of other verses, with some comments after, where wecontinually see the order or sequence of a Day is stated as day first and then followed by night.

Genesis 1:14 And Elohim said, Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separatethe day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and

    years,

Genesis 1:16 And Elohim made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and thelesser light to rule the night, and the stars.

A question is "Does, or would, YHWH start His Days with, and in, the greater light or the lesserlight (or in virtually NO light when there is a New Moon)?

Genesis 1:18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light fromthe darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good.

We see first the day and then over the night, not over the night and over the day, to separate thelight from darkness and not the darkness from the light. Day and the light get first billing andpriority once again.

Genesis 7:4 For after seven more days I am sending rain on the earth, forty days andforty nights, and shall wipe from the face of the earth all that stand that I created.

Note that it does NOT say "after seven more nights" for "forty nights and days" but instead it isafter seven more days ... forty days and forty nights. This clearly suggests that "Days"

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    7/35

are counted by the "days and nights" and in that precise order.

Genesis 7:12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

Why not forty nights and forty days IF the evenings and nights come first? SIXTEEN times infifteen separate verses in Scriptures there is a count of "Days" and each and EVERY time thesequence is stated as "days and nights". It is NEVER described as "nights and days" ...NEVER!

Genesis 8:22 as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and winterand summer, and day and night shall not cease.

We see "seedtime and harvest" is in the proper sequence, as is "day and night" and we find "coldand heat" are in order with "winter and summer". And again the order is "day and night".

Genesis 19:15And when morning dawned, the messengers urged Lot to hurry, saying, Getup, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in thepunishment of the city.

This day of judgment needed to be avoided as morning dawned.

Genesis 19:34 And it came to be on the next daythat the first-born said to the younger, See, Ilay with my father last night.Genesis 19:35 So they made their father drink wine that night as well. ...

It seems the "last night", in verse 34, was spoken of as part of the previous Day and "that nightas well" in verse 35 belonged to that next Day.

Genesis 31:39 ... You required it from my hand, whether stolen by day or stolen by night.

It could be assumed that first it would be easier to steal something in the dark of the night butonce again day and night are listed as the order of the Day.

Genesis 31:40 Thus I was! By day the heat consumed me, and the frost by night, andmy sleep fled from my eyes.

First, 'By day ...' followed with '... by night'.

Genesis 49:27 Binyamin is a wolf that tears, in the morning he eats prey, and atnight he divides the spoil.

That "in the morning" was before that "and at night" suggesting it is referring to thesame Day.

Exodus 10:13 And Mosheh stretched out his rod over the land of Mitsrayim, and brought aneast wind on the land all that day and all that night. Morning came, and the east wind

    brought the locusts.

Again it appears the order of a Day here is "all that day" then "all that night" and then "morningcame" breaking a new Day as in Genesis 1:5.

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    8/35

Exodus 12:6 And you shall keep it until the fourteenth dayof the same month. Then all the assembly of the congregation of Yisral shall kill itbetween theevenings.

Exodus 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted in fire withunleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Exodus 12:10 And do not leave of it until morning, and what remains of it until morningyou are to burn with fire.

Passover is on the 14th Day and the lamb is to be killed between the evenings and the lamb iseaten on that night, the night of the 14th, leaving none until morning (the 15th).

Exodus 13:21 And went before them by dayin a column of cloud to lead the way, and by

night in a column of fire to give them light, so as to goby day and night.Exodus 13:22 The column of cloud did not cease by day, nor the column of fireby night,

    before the people.

Again and again we see 'by day' preceding 'and by night' and "go by day and night" in that orderof sequence. Did not cease by day, nor by night.

Exodus 16:7 And in the morning you shall see the esteem of , for He hears your

grumblings against . And what are we, that you grumble against us?

In the morning (in the beginning of His/our Day) His esteem is seen.

Exodus 18:13 And it came to be, on the next day, that Mosheh sat to rightly rule thepeople. And the people stood before Mosheh from morning until evening.

On the next day... from morning until evening,in that order.

Exodus 30:7 And Aharon shall burn on it sweet incense, morning by morning. Ashe tends the lamps, he shall burn incense on it.Exodus 30:8 And when Aharon lights the lamps between the evenings, he shall burn

incense on it a continual incense before throughout your generations.

Morning by morning and then between the evenings in that specific order. Thephrase "morning by morning" is used in seven verses in the Scriptures but not oncedo we see "evening by evening".

Exodus 24:18 ... And it came to be that Mosheh was on the mountain forty days and fortynights.

Exodus 34:28 And he was there with forty days and forty nights. ...

ELEVEN times the Scriptures use the sequence of "Forty days and forty nights" and NOT ONCEstated with nights first as forty nights and forty days.

    9/35

Exodus 40:38 For the cloud of was on the Dwelling Placeby day, and fire was on itby

night, before the eyes of all the house of Yisral, in all their journeys.

Byday followed by by night is a very reoccurring pattern of the order of Days.

Leviticus 6:12 And the fire on the altar is kept burning on it, it is not put out. And thepriest shall burn wood on it every morning, and arrange the burnt offering on it, andshall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings

Every morning why not every evening, if that began the Day?

Leviticus 6:20 This is the offering of Aharon and his sons, which they bring near to ,

beginning on the daywhen he is anointed: one-tenth of an phah of fine flour as a dailygrain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it at night.

"Beginning on the day" ... "half of it in the morning and half of it at night". A Day here isstated here in the order of morning followed by evening/night.

Leviticus 8:35 And stay at the door of the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days. ...

IF "Days" began at night why not say "night and day for seven nights"? Again, the count of theDays has a sequence of a day followed by night.

Numbers 9:16 Thus it was continually: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fireby night.

Numbers 9:21 And so it was, when the cloud dwelt onlyfrom evening until morning: whenthe cloud was taken up in the morning, then they departed. Whetherbyday or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they departed.

These verses order it as "by day ... by night" and then from evening until morning taken up inthe morning as a part of the Day and follows it by writing "Whether by day or by night".

Numbers 11:32 And the people were up all that day, and all that night, and all the nextday, and gathered the quail.

Note, "ALL that day" then "and all that night" and then "and ALL the next day". We see theorder of a Day being dayand night and then the next Day.

Numbers 14:14 and they shall say to the inhabitants of this land they have heard that You, ,

are in the midst of these people, that You, , are seen eye to eye and that Your cloud stands

above them, and You go before them in a column of cloud by dayand in a column of firebynight.

Byday... by night in that order.

Deuteronomy 9:9 When I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets

of the covenant which made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days andforty nights.

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    10/35

Deuteronomy 9:11 And it came to be, at the end offorty days and forty nights, that

gave me the two tablets of stone, ..."

Deuteronomy 9:18 and I fell down before , as at the first, forty days and forty nights.

Deuteronomy 9:25 So I fell down before the forty days and forty nights, for I fell down

because had said He would destroy you.

Deuteronomy 10:10 And I stayed in the mountain for forty days and forty nights.

All these verses with "forty days and forty nights" and not even one single time is it written as"forty nights and forty days".

Deuteronomy 16:4 And no leaven should be seen with you in all your border for seven days, neither should any of the meat which you slaughter in the evening on the first day stay allnight until morning.

Again we see the Days are counted by days and also meat slaughtered in this evening on thefirst Dayshould not stay all night until morning. The first evening followed the first dayandthus belonged to the first Day.

Deuteronomy 21:23 Let his bodynot remain overnight on the tree, for you shallcertainly bury him the same day for he who is hanged is accursed of Elohim so

that you do not defile the land which your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.

According to this verse, overnight (until morning) is part ofthe same Day.

Deuteronomy 28:66 And your life shall be hanging in suspense before you, and you shall fearday and night, and not be certain of your life.Deuteronomy 28:67 In the morningyou say, Oh, that it were evening! And at evening

you say, Oh, that it were morning!

Day and night in the ordered sequence of morning, evening and then evening, morning.

Yehoshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth, but you shall meditateon it day and night, so that you guard to do according to all that is written in it.

Why not write "night and day" if that is the order of YHWH's Days? If His Days began atevening/night then this verse would be telling us that we are to meditate on the second half of aDay and then into the first half of the next Day. However, when we see that His Days start in the"light" of daybreak then this verse makes perfect sense! If we meditate all the day and all thenight in that sequence then we have completed a morning to morning, Day from the beginningof the Day until the end, in the order of a Day and in the order of this verse. HalleluYaH!

Yehoshua 6:14 And the second day they went around the city once and returned to thecamp. Thus they did six days.

Yehoshua 6:15 And it came to be on the seventh daythat they rose early, aboutthe dawning of the day, and went around the city seven times in this way. Only on

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    11/35

that day they went around the city seven times.

Here the Days are being counted out and on the seventh Day they rose early about the dawning

of the Day as this is when the new Day began.

Yehoshua 7:13 Rise up, set the people apart, and you shall say, Set yourselves apart for

tomorrow, because thus said Elohim of Yisral, ...Yehoshua 7:14 And you shall be brought near in the morning, according to your tribes. ...Yehoshua 7:16 So Yehoshua arose earlyin the morning and brought Yisral by their tribes, ...

Once again, the time described as "tomorrow" commenced in the morning.

Judges 6:27 ... And it came to be, because he feared his fathers household and the men of thecity too much to do itby day, that he did itby night.

Judges 19:4 And his father-in-law, the young womans father, detained him, and he dwelt withhim three days. And they ate and drankand spent the nights there.

Apparently these are three 'day and night' Days and also the nights that belonged with, andfollowed, those daylight periods of those Days.

Judges 19:9 ... But his father-in-law, the young womans father, said to him, See, the day isnow drawing toward evening. Please spend the night. See, the day is coming to anend. Stay here, and let your heart be glad. And you shall rise early tomorrowfor your

journey, and you shall go to your tent.

We see the day is drawing toward evening or sundown but still part of that Day butwe also see

that the day is coming to an end, and after the mention of spending the night. Is this the"daylight" coming to an end or is it the actual full 'day and night' Day that is spoken of here, or

both? Well we may have the answer when we see that they shall rise EARLYtomorroworwhen the 'Day' called tomorrow has just began. We might perceive this differently if it was "earlymorning", but instead it says "early tomorrow" which signifies early in the new Day. If eveninghad begun the Day it would not be early tomorrowas tomorrow would have then been halfover.

Judges 19:11 They were near Yebus, and the day was far spent. And the servant said to his

master, Come, please, and let us turn aside into this city of the Yebusites and spend thenight in it.

The day was far spent 'and spend the night in it' appears to be a continuance of that sameDay.

1 Shemu'el 17:16 And for forty days the Philistine drew near, morning and evening, and took his stand.

Days were counted off in the order of morning first, and then the evening.

1 Shemu'el 19:11 AndShaul sent messengers to Dawidshouse to watch him and to

put him to death in the morning. And Mikal,Dawidswife, informed him, sayinIf you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you are put to death.

The next morning was called tomorrow in the next day and "tonight" belonged to thatsame day before.

1 Shemu'el 19:24 And he also stripped off his garments and prophesied before Shemul, and laydown naked all that day and all that night.

All that day and all THAT night, this night belonged to and followed THAT Day.

1 Shemu'el 28:20 ... And there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no food all day or allnight.

Again it is written as all day or all night in that precise order of a Day.

1 Shemu'el 30:12 ... for he had not eaten bread nor drunk water for three days and threenights.

Here again we have Days counted off "for three days and three nights" and not for three nightsand three days.

2 Shemu'el 2:32 And Yoab and his menwent all night, and they came to Hebron at

    daybreak.

Daybreak or the break of day, is this just as it implies "breaking the days", the beginning of just

the daylight and/or the next full 'day and night' Day?

2 Shemu'el 21:10 ... And she did not allow the birds of the heavens to rest on thembydaynor the beasts of the fieldby night.

By day nor by night as this sequence of Days continues.

1 Kings 17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and breadand meat in the evening, and he drank from the stream.

In the morning and in the evening is the order of the Day once again.

1 Kings 8:59 And let these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before , benear our Elohim day and night, to maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His

people Yisral, the matter of each day in its day,

It speaks of "day and night" and then refers to "each day in its day", referring to a full 'dayand night' Day or it might have added "and the matter of each night in its night".

1 Kings 19:8 And he rose up and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days

and forty nights as far as Horb, the mountain of Elohim.

Eleven verses in the Scriptures say "forty days and forty nights" in that order and not one timedoes it say "forty nights and forty days".

1 Chronicles 9:27 And they spent the night all around the House of Elohim because they had theduty, and they were to open it morning by morning.

The House of Elohim is opened morning by morning when each new Day begins or 12 hoursafter an evening beginning?

1 Chronicles 9:33 And these were the singers, heads of the fathers houses of the Lwites, in therooms, and were exempted from other duties, for they were employed in that workday andnight.

Work is day and night in that order, once again. One of very few verses that suggest work inthe night however the order is stll 'dayand night'

2 Chronicles 6:20 For Your eyes to be open toward this House day and night, toward theplace You have said to put Your Name there, to listen to the prayer which Your servant praystoward this place.

Elohims house is opened in the order ofmorning by morning (1 Chronicles 9:27) with Hiseyes toward this House day and night (in that order) where He puts His Name and listens toHis servants prayers ... in that precise order ofmorning by morning, day and night.

Nehemyah 1:6 please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, to hear the prayer of Your

servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, for the children of Yisral Yourservants, and confess the sins of the children of Yisral which we have sinned against You.

This is literally from the Hebrew, "I pray before daily day, night." as the Hebrew word "yomam"(daily) is also with "yom" (day) and "laylah" (night).

Nehemyah 4:9 But we prayed to our Elohim, and set a watch against them day and night,

    because of them.

Another full 'day and night' Day in Elohim's order of a Day.

Nehemyah 9:12 And You led themby daywith a cloudy column, andby nightwith a column

of fire, to give them light in the way they were to go.

By dayand by night ... over and over again we get this sequence to YHWH's days.

Iyob 1:5 And it came to be, when the days of feasting had gone round, that Iyob would sendand set them apart, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings ...

In the morning starting his Day with offerings. The verse before says "each on his day" andthe verse after says "And the day came to be".

Iyob 2:13 Then they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no

one spoke a word to him, for they saw that the pain was very great.

"Day to day" precedes the order of "night to night".

Psalm 22:2 O My Elohim, I call by day, but You do not answer; Andby night, but I find norest.

'Byday'followed in sequence is 'by night'.

Psalm 32:3,4 When I kept silent, my bones became old through my groaning all the day. Forday and nightYour hand was heavy upon me; ...

All the Day ... for day and night. Note the word for "day" in verse 4 instead of "yom" for

"day" is "yomam" for "daily". For dailyand night. Every day is followed by night.

Psalm 42:3 My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day, Whereis your Elohim?

Further evidence of the order of YaH's days are 'dayand night' ... all day.

Psalm 42:8By day commands His kindness, Andby night His song is with me; A prayer

to the l of my life.

What a beautiful verse and again shows the order of YHWH's Days as bydayand by night.

Psalm 50:1 l Elohim shall speak, And He shall call the earth From the rising

of the sun to its going down.

In Hebrew, this literally may say "El Elohim arranged to call the earth from

sunrise sun until sunset." A possible support to His creating in the morning ofeach day and stopping at each evening and beginning each new morning again as italludes to in Genesis 1:5-31.

Psalm 65:8 And they who dwell in the farthest parts, Are afraid of Your signs; Youmake the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice.

The outgoings of the morning and evening are in that precise order of sequence.

Psalm 73:14 For I am plagued all day long, And my reproof is every morning.

All day long with reproof every morning as every new Day begins.

Psalm 74:16The dayis Yours, the night is Yours too,You have established the light andthe sun.

There is a preference for the order ofdayfirst with the light and the sun.

Psalm 77:2In the dayof my distress I sought ; My hand was stretched out in the nightAnd it did not cease, My being refused to be comforted.

"In the day" precedes and then includes "in the night" in the same sequence of a Day.

Psalm 78:14 And led them with the cloud by day, and all the nightwith a light of fire.

Again,by day and all the night strongly suggests a continuance of the same Day.

Psalm 88:1 O , Elohim of my deliverance, By dayI have cried out, In the nightalso before

    You,

"Byday" continuing to "in the night".

Psalm 88:13 But I, unto You I have cried, O ,And in the morning my prayer

    comes before You.

In the morning his prayer comes before YHWH. As to begin the Day?

Psalm 90:14Satisfy us in the morningwith Your kindness, And let us sing forjoyall our days!

Satisfy us in the morning ... all our days. Not, "satisfy us in the evening ... all our days".

Psalm 92:2 To declare Your kindness in the morning,And Your trustworthinesseach night,

Morning and then night again and again is the most common order for YHWH's Days.

Psalm 101:8Each morning I uproot all the wrong of the land, To cut off all the

workers of wickedness From the city of .

    Each morning.

Psalm 110:3 Your people volunteer in the dayof Your might, In the splendours ofset-apartness! From the womb, from the morning, You have the dew of Your

    youth!

In the Dayis once again stated as from the morning.

Psalm 113:3From the rising of the sun to its going down, The Name of ispraised.

His order is always written as "From the rising of the sun to its setting", not EVER "the setting tothe rising".

Psalm 121:6 The sun does not strike youby day, Nor the moonby night.

The sun bydayis first followed with the moon by night in that order.

Psalm 130:6 My being looks to More than those watching for morning, watching

    for morning.

This literally says "Breathing Adonay from guarding morning, guarding morning."

Psalm 136:7To Him who made great lights, For His kindness is everlasting;Psalm 136:8The sun to rule by day, For His kindness is everlasting;Psalm 136:9The moon and stars to rule by night, For His kindness is everlasting.

The Genesis 1:14-18 order is repeated again as we see great lights. First, the sun to rule byday, and then next the moon and stars to rule by night in that order.

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines everbrighter unto the perfect day.

Light of dawn is the beginning of the 'perfect' Day.

Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun also rises, and the sun sets, and hurries back to the placewhere it arose.

This verse seems to completely confirm the order of YHWH's days ... Sunrise, sunset and then sunrise again!

Ecclesiastes 2:23 For all his days are sufferings, and his work grievous; even in the night hisheart takes no rest. ...

Days lead to "in the night" in that precise order.

Ecclesiastes 8:16 When I gave my heart to know wisdom and to see the task which has beendone on earth, even though one sees no sleep day or night,

This sequence would be more logical as "no sleep night or day", as we firstly and mostly sleep inthe night. Instead it is stated as "day or night", which once again places daylight first in is Hisorder of writing of His Days.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning, and until evening do not let yourhand rest; since you do not know which prosper, this or that, or whether both alike aregood.

Morning until evening is shown here as the working Day example of working first andthen rest.

Yeshayahu 4:5 Then shall create above every dwelling place of Mount Tsiyon, and aboveher assemblies, a cloud and smokeby dayand the shining of a flaming fire by night, for overall the esteem shall be a covering,

By day and then by night, is most often the order ... again (and again and again).

Yeshayahu 5:11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning pursuing strong drink, who stay up late at night wine inflames them!

This could have been a natural place to mention night before morning but Days begin

    with the morning.

Yeshayahu 21:8 Then he cried, A lion, O ! I stand continually on the watchtower in the

daytime, and I have sat at my post everynight.

    Daytime first followed by night.

Yeshayahu 21:12 The watchman said, Morning came, and also the night. If youinquire, inquire. Come again!

In Hebrew it is literally written as, "Protect saying "Morning arrives also night".Morning followed by the night is protected in that precise order.

Yeshayahu 28:19 As often as it passes through it shall take you, for it shall pass through everymorning, andby day and by night. ...

In Hebrew this literally is "From enough transitionAssuredly morning to morningtransitions dayto night...."

Yeshayahu 33:2 O , show us favour, for we have waited for You. Be their arm

every morning, our deliverance also in time of distress.

Every morning because it begins every Day? The answer is a resounding, YES!

Yeshayahu 38:12 My dwelling is plucked up, taken from me like a shepherds tent. ... Fromday to nightYou make an end of me.

From dayto night is the obvious order here again.

Yeshayahu 38:13 I soothed myselfuntil morning. ... From day to nightYou make an end ofme.

So we see in these two verses 12 & 13 "From day to night" and then "until morning" andthen "from day to night", again. Apparently, this dayto night begin and ends at morning.

Yeshayahu 45:6 so that they knowfrom the rising of the sun to its setting that there is

none but Me. I am , and there is none else,

Again we see "the rising of the sun to its setting" and this is the time line that YHWH isaddressing His Oneness.Again, please note the absence of even just one single verseanywhere in the entire Scriptures that specifically mentions a sun setting to risingsequence.

Yeshayahu 50:4 The Master has given Me the tongue of taught ones, that I shouldknow to help the weary with a word. He wakes Me morning by morning, he wakes Myear to hear as taught ones.

Morning by morning has priority, as in Day by Day, as the order of His Days.

Yeshayahu 58:8 Then your light would break forth like the morning, your healing spring

forth speedily. And your righteousness shall go before you, the esteem of would be your

Morning light, speedily healing, righteousness, the esteem of YHWH.

Yeshayahu 60:11 And your gates shall be open continually, they are not shut day or night, tobring to you the wealth of the gentiles, and their sovereigns in procession.

Again and again it is 'day or night'in that precise order.

Yeshayahu 62:6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Yerushalayim, all the day and all thenight, continually, who are not silent. ...

"All the day" and continuing into "and all the night, CONTINUALLY". A continual order of"all the day" followed by "all the night".

Yirmeyahu 6:4 Set apart battle against her.Arise, and let us go up at noon. Woeto us, for the day goes away, for the shadows of the evening are lengthening.

Yirmeyahu 6:5 Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

Arise ... and go up at noon ... then the daygoes away as the shadows of the eveningcome ... and then night and all in the same Day.

Yirmeyahu 9:1 Oh, that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, and I would weepday and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

Was this to be half of one Day and then half of another Day? NO! One complete Day as it isconsistently written in His Word, day first and then night.

Yirmeyahu 16:13 So I shall throw you out of this land into a land that you do not know, neitheryou nor your fathers. And there you shall serve other mighty ones day and night, where I showyou no favour.

Day and night ... again in that order.

Yirmeyahu 31:35 Thus said , who gives the sun for a light by day, and the laws of the moon

and the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, and its waves roar of hosts is His

    Name:

Confirmation of Genesis 1:16 & 18 again which also gives us YHWH's ordered sequence ... Dayfollowed bynight. He then adds...

Yirmeyahu 31:36If these laws vanish from before Me, declares , then the seed of Yisral

shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.

This sounds like a warning of altering His laws of His order of day and night.

Yirmeyahu33:20 Thus said , If you could break My covenant with the dayand My

covenant with the night, so that there be not day and night in their season,

An interesting verse in regards to this overall study. The order is first, His covenant with

the dayand then His covenant with the night. Dayandthen night is intheir "season" or"time". This is the Hebrew word "eth" which literally means "time".

Yirmeyahu 33:25 Thus said , If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have notappointed the laws of the heavens and earth,

His covenant is with 'day and night' ... day followed by night is the order of Hisproclaiming this. If this covenant is NOT with day and night ...

Yirmeyahu 33:26 then I would also reject the descendants of Yaaqob and Dawid My

servant, so that I should not take of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Ab

raham, Yitshaq, and Yaaqob. For I shall turn back their captivity, and have compassion onthem.

This appears to be a very serious warning to not break the order of His covenantwith day and night, in that order!

Yirmeyahu 36:30 Therefore thus said concerning Yehoyaqim sovereign of Yehudah, He

shall have no one to sit on the throne of Dawid, and his dead body is to be thrown out, to the

heat ofthe dayand the frost ofthe night.

The heat of the dayis in order to proceed the frost of the night.

Lamentations 2:18 Their heart cried out to , O wall of the daughter of Tsiyon, Let tears rundown like a river day and night. Give yourself no numbness, Let your eyes have no rest.

Day and night is the order again.

Lamentations 3:23 They are new every morning, Great is Your trustworthiness.

'New every morning'suggests the beginning of each new Day.

Yehezql 12:7 And so I did, as I was commanded. I brought out my baggage for exileby day, and at evening I dug through the wall with my hand. I brought them outat dark, and I took them on my shoulder before their eyes.

"By day" and "at evening" and "at dark" demonstrates a natural progression of a Day.

Yehezql 24:18 And I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died.

And the next morning I did as I was commanded.

In the morning and in the evening and the next morning shows a full 'day and night', Genesis 1:5order of a Day.

Yehezql 46:13 And make a dailyburnt offering to of a lamb a year old, aperfect one, preparing it morning by morning.

    continual everlasting laws.

Yehezql 46:15 And prepare the lamb, and the grain offering, and the oil, morning

by morning, a continual burnt offering.

Daily offerings are morning by morning each Day in the order here of YHWH's Days.

Hosha 4:5 And you shall stumble in the day, and the prophet shall also stumble with you inthe night. And I shall make your mother perish.

The day is followed by the night once again.

Amos 4:4 Come to Byth l and transgress, to Gilgal, increase transgression. And bringyour slaughterings every morning, your tithes every three days.

Every morning every three Days when the Days begin in the morning.

Yonah 1:17 But appointed a great fish to swallow Yonah. And Yonah was in the stomach ofthe fish three days and three nights.

Always written as 'days and nights' and NEVER the reverse is stated.

Yonah 4:7 But as morning dawned the next dayElohim appointed a worm whichattacked the plant so that it withered.

Apparently "as morning dawned" was "the next Day" as we never see where itstates "as evening set the next day" anywhere in Scriptures.

Tsephanyah 3:5 is righteous in her midst, He does no unrighteousness. Morningby morning He brings His right-ruling to light, it has not been lacking, yet theunrighteous one knows no shame.

Morning by morning He brings His right-ruling to light. His order of His Days.

Zekaryah 14:7 And it shall be one daywhich is known to , neither day nor night, but atevening time there shall be light.

This describes 'one day' as a full 'day and night' Day in the sequence of 'day nor night' andmentions evening as it is part of that same Day.

Malaki 1:11 For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My Name is

Again we see, as in Psalm 50:1 and Psalm 113:3, the rising of the sun then its goingdownbut NEVER mentioned in the reverse order.

Matt 4:2 And after having fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.

This time is repeated in Luke 4:2 but just counts His fast by the Days only.

Luke 4:2 Being tried for forty daysby the devil. And in those days He did not eat atall, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

Are we to assume that Luke thought that He ate in the nights? No, but we can ascertainthat YaH's Days are counted by the daytime first. If the Days began at evening wouldntthey be counted off by the nights and write instead "for forty nights"? However, in the

Word, Days are ALWAYS counted off by either just Days or days and nights and areNEVER counted off by nights or as 'nights and days'.

Mattithayhu 12:40 For as Yonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of

the great fish, so shall the Son of Adam be three days and three nights in the heartof the earth.

Days and nights are the only order when days and nights are counted.

Mattithayhu 28:1 Nowafter the Sabbath, toward dawn on the first day of the week, Miryam

from Magdala and the other Miryam came to see the tomb.

After the Sabbath was toward dawn.

Luke 18:7 And shall Elohim not do right by all means to His own chosen ones who are cryingout day and night to Him, and being patient over them?

Crying out day and night is that the last half of one day and the first half of the next day orjust logically and orderly the same full 'day and night' Day beginning in its natural Elohim givenorder of day first and followed by night?

Luke 21:37 And He was teaching in the Set-apart Placeby day, but at night He went out andstayed on the mountain of Olives,

It seems to be implying that the Messiah's days were followed by His nights in the realm of the

    same Day.

Yohanan 9:4 It is necessary for Me to work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day night is coming, when no one is able to work.

Yohanan 9:5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

It is day and night is coming, in that order. This supports Elohim creating by day and stoppingin evening until morning came again as we see now in Genesis 1:1-31.

Acts 9:24 But their plot became known to Shaul. And they were watching the gates day andnight, to kill him.

Dayand night. Night would be an easier time to kill but day is first in its order.

Acts 28:23 And having appointed him a day, many came to him where he was staying, to whomhe was explaining, earnestly witnessing about the reign of Elohim, and persuading them

concerning from both the Torah of Mosheh and the Prophets, from morning until

    evening.

This is describing a Day that begins at morning through to evening.

Revelation 4:8 And the four living creatures, each having six wings, were covered with eyesaround and within. And they do not cease, day or night, saying, Set-apart, set-apart,

set-apart, l Shaddai, who was, and who is, and who is coming!

Dayor night,in that order, they do not cease ... Dayafter Dayafter Day, a day-night-dayordered sequence, they praise Him in this order of His Days.

Revelation 7:15 Because of this they are before the throne of Elohim, and serve Him day andnight in His Dwelling Place. ...

Day and night is the order to serve Elohim in His Dwelling Place!

Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in the heaven, Now have come the deliveranceand the power and the reign of our Elohim, and the authority of His Messiah, for the accuser ofour brothers, who accused them before our Elohim day and night, has been thrown down.

Day and night is again and again and again the order of Days.

Revelation 14:11 ... And they have no rest day or night, those worshipping the beast and hisimage, also if anyone receives the mark of his name.

    Day and night.

Revelation 20:10 ... And they shall be tortured day and night forever and ever.

It would appear, as sited in over ONE HUNDRED & FIFTY Scripture verses, that YHWH'snatural stated ordered sequence of a Day is repeatedly stated asfirst the light of daybeginning with morning followed by the dark of night beginning with evening.Contrarily, there are only a few verses in the entire Scriptures that mention any reverse of thisorder.

    Part 4

Some questions and comments about the beginning and ending of Sabbath Days ...

Exodus 16:23 And he said to them, This is what has said, Tomorrow is a rest, a

Sabbath set-apart to . That which you bake, bake; and that which you cook, cook. And layup for yourselves all that is left over, to keep it until morning.

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    24/35

On the sixth Day they bake and cook to keep it until morning which was the Sabbath Day(verse 25). All that is left over is mentioned to be first eaten on the Sabbath in the morning (afterdaybreak), inferring that what they cooked on the sixth Day wasn't eaten until the seventh Day

that began in the morning. IF it was actually a sunset to sunset Sabbath, are we to believe thatthey did not eat between sunset and sunrise? No, the quails came in the evening (verse 13) andwould be cooked at night and the first "Sabbath meal" that is specifically mentioned is for thenext morning. It seems to suggest that they were to cook on that sixth Day including that nightfor the Sabbath Day, which began in the morning. It does NOT say to cook all before sunset toeat that night and in the morning but just keep it until morningwhich it clearly states themorning begins the Sabbath. In fact these next verses strongly suggest that the morning

was truly the beginning of the Sabbath...

Exodus 16:24 And they laid it up till morning, as Mosheh commanded. And it did notstink, and no worm was in it.

Exodus 16:25 And Mosheh said, Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to , today

you do not find it in the field. Also we see that first there is morning followed by evening on the Sabbath in...

2 Chronicles 2:4 See, I am building a House for the Name of my Elohim, to setit apart to Him, to burn before Him sweet incense, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the

New Moons, and on the appointed times of our Elohim. This is for Yisralforever.

This is a morning and evening seventh day Sabbath order as the morning and eveningofferings would begin when the Sabbath Day begins and not half way through it if theDay and Sabbath began in the evening. It is repeated again in 2 Chronicles 31:3

2 Chronicles 31:3 And the sovereign appointeda portion of his possessions for the burntofferings, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings fortheSabbaths and for the New Moons and for the appointed times, as it is written in

    the Torah of .

And it appears that YaHWshuaH demonstrates a morning to morning Sabbath in Mark1:21-35 ...

Mark 1:21 And they went into Kephar Nahum, and immediately on the Sabbath He went

into the congregation and taught.Mark 1:22 And they were astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching them aspossessing authority, and not as the scribes.Mark 1:23 And there was a man in their congregation with an unclean spirit, and hecried out,

Mark 1:24 Saying, Ha! What have we to do with You, of Natsareth? Did You cometo destroy us? I know who You are: the Set-apart One of Elohim!

Mark 1:25 And rebuked him, saying, Be silenced, and come out of him!

Mark 1:26 And throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit called out with a loudvoice, and came out of him.

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    25/35

Mark 1:27 And they were all so amazed, as to reason among themselves, saying,What isthis, a fresh teaching? With authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and theyobey Him!

Mark 1:28 And news about Him immediately spread into all the country around Galil.Mark 1:29 And coming out of the congregation, they went straight to the house of

Shimon and Andri, with Yaaqob and Yohanan.

This is an example of a Sabbath with the Messiah which begins in the morning with thecongregation. (Is there a verse anywhere in Scriptures that shows a mention of anymeeting on the eveningbefore a weekly seventh day Sabbath? Haven't been able to findone verse throughout the entire Scriptures). YaHWshuaH now continues His Sabbathday at the house of Shim'on and Andri. ...

Mark 1:30 And the mother-in-law of Shimon lay sick with inflammation, and

immediately they spoke to Him about her.Mark 1:31 And having come, He took her by the hand and lifted her up, andimmediately the inflammation left her, and she served them.Mark 1:32 And when evening came, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all

who were sick and those who were demon-possessed.

Some suggest this signals the end of the Day and/or the Sabbath but it does not say this.It is marking the time as it does in many other places which also does not signal the endor beginning of a Day (like when it marks the third hour or the ninth hour. And note

when it does mark the hours it is the third hour of the Day not the fifteenth hour as thecounting of hours starts in the morning and not at sunset).

Alternatively, we have seen in Exodus 16:23-25 specifically showing Sabbath beginningwith the morning combined with further witnesses in 2 Chronicles 2:4 & 31:3 that theSabbaths are described in an order of morning and evening.

Mark 1:33 And the entire city had gathered at the door.Mark 1:34 And He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out manydemons, and was not allowing the demons to speak, because they knew Him.

We see that YaHWshuaH is doing exactly as He was doing in the morning and afternoon.None of His activities have changed in the evening as it appears He continues HisSabbath until verse 35.

Mark 1:35 And having risen very early in the morning, while still dim, He went out, and wentaway to a lonely place, and there He prayed.

This passage in Mark 1:21-35 is possibly demonstrating a complete morning to morning Sabbathas YaHWshuaH is praying as the Sabbath ends.

Some more verses about the beginning of weekly Sabbath Days and 'High' Sabbaths, remembering that Elohim calls the light, 'day' (seventh day=seventh light) ...

Leviticus 23:3 Six days work is done, but the seventh dayis a Sabbath of rest, a set

apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to in all your dwellings.

an offering made by fire to .Leviticus 23:32 It is a Sabbath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your beings. On theninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you observe yourSabbath.

Questions ..."Why tell us to keep the Day of Atonement from evening to evening if it was thesame as the other Sabbaths?" When YHWH commands us to guard the seventh Day Sabbaths in

Leviticus 23:3 (or anywhere in 150 other verses about the seventh day Sabbath) He NEVER hasmentioned an "evening to evening" observance. Why? Can you find one verse anywhere in theentire Scriptures that shows a gathering on the evening or night before the seventh day Sabbath? If this is the way we are to observe all Sabbaths beginning at the evening before, why not just sayso in verse 3 (or anywhere else)?

If it is because this is the way that was known for all Days and all Sabbaths and all Festivals, whymention it at all? And if not known, why mention a special instruction only for the beginning ofDay of Atonement (between the evenings for Passover/FoUB) and not mention it for everyFestival commanded in Leviticus 23 or anywhere else in Scriptures? Why explain this formatonly for these two times specifically if there wasn't any difference to reckoning the beginning ofall Days and Sabbaths?

It could be that these were just special start times for specific Festivals and that Ecclesiastes 1:5is the order to all of the beginning and end of His Days ... The sun also rises, and the sunsets, and hurries back to the place where it arose.Verse 27 says the Day of Atonement ison the tenth day and yet verse 32 says to begin on the evening of the ninth. If all Days started inthe evening this should have been described as the evening of the tenth (or just state it as on thetenth day), as the evening of the ninth would have been the beginning of the previous Day. But if

YHWH's Days are "morning to morning" this makes perfect sense and that it is being stated asan exception of an evening to evening observance.

The possible reason Elohim ordered the Day of Atonement to be evening to evening is to allowpreparation for the weekly Sabbath when Day of Atonement falls on the sixth day. If all days andSabbaths were evening to evening there could be no sixth day preparation as commanded in

Exodus 16. However, by following the example of the Exodus 16:23-25 morning start to theweekly Sabbath allows for preparation the evening before without having to alter the Days so theDay of Atonement as some groups have instituted 'postponement days' in violation of Elohimsprecise appointed times.

And as an aside, those with a sunset to sunset weekly Sabbath often take part of the sixth day offto prepare. So they do not truly get six full Days to do their work as YHWH guarantees. InCanada, on the shorter winter days, the sun is often setting just after 4 pm and in the north evenearlier, so the "promised" period of work is interrupted. For example if the sunsets at 4 pm, thena worker who is employed until 6 pm must take part of the sixth day off as well as the seventh. However, a morning to morning weekly Sabbath would truly only be one Day off of "normal"

work time as specified in Scriptures. It is understood that the next morning is also later, but

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    27/35

commonly worldwide the first Day is the least worked day of the week and when worked it hasthe shortest hours.

When I was in Yisra'el, I witnessed shops start shutting down as early as noon to prepare forSabbath which makes it only five and a half days to do "normal" daytime labour. I know this is achoice and they could have stayed open a bit later but when the sun sets between 4:30 and 5 pmfor almost 3 months each year with the possibility of some time to travel home. And if being asingle person they possibly need to prepare Sabbath meals etc. after working. We have acovenant promise of six full Days to do our labour but a sunset to sunset Day does not allow thatand prepare for Sabbath in the winter months of most countries. However, if the weekly Sabbathis truly to be celebrated from morning to morning, they could finish their full sixth day work, as

YHWH's covenant guarantees, and then go home to prepare that evening for the Sabbath. Thisallows one to go to bed and enter Sabbath in a state of rest instead of a state of stress, havingrushed to "beat the clock" to get home to prepare all by sundown. Sabbath was created as adelight not a burden. Sabbath was made for man, not man for Sabbath.

Also, for farmers and others could feed their animals before morning on the weekly Sabbath andthen again just after morning comes the next day allowing them to not do one of their regularchores on the Sabbath and keeping their animals on a healthy feeding routine.

And in the account of YaHWshuaH's resurrection we see in Mattithyahu 28:1 is literally ...After

the Sabbath, as it began to grow light to first Sabbath, came Miryam Magdala, and the

different Mary, to discern the grave.Suggesting possibly, that after the Passover and Festival ofUnleavened Bread Sabbath, the seventh day Sabbath was dawning or beginning thatmorning.

All accounts in Mattithyahu. Mark, Luke and Yohanan agree suggesting that the Messiah rose

justbefore the seventh day Sabbath and that it does NOT transliterate as the "first day ofthe week" as is often translated. Now this could just be marking a full week as Sabbath ends one

week and marks the beginning of the next one. However, the word used is the Greek "sabbaton"or "Sabbath(s)" which is the same word used in Luke 4:16 that supports that YaHWshuaH wasin the congregation on the Sabbath day(s) and we would not think that this meant the first dayof the week (sunday). This is further supported with a word for word transliteration fromMark...

Mark 16:1 And the Sabbath elapsed meanwhile Miryam Magdala, and Miryam the

Yaaqob, and Shelomah bought spices, to go and anoint Him.

Mark 16:2And much dawn the first Sabbath, came to the remembrance arising the sun.

Mark 16:9 And standing up at dawn foremost Sabbath, lightened firstly Miryam Magdala, off

    whom ejected seven demons.

Again we have the Passover/FoUB Sabbath ended and the beginning of the seventh day Sabbathin the morning.

Luke23:54And it was Preparation day, and the Sabbath was approaching.

The Interlinear Scripture Analyzer transliterates it as ...AND DAY it-WAS OF-preparationAND SABBATH ON-LIGHTED.

The Concordant Literal Version is ...Luke 23:54And it was the day of preparation, and a Sabbath lighted up.CLV

Luke 24:1But the first the Sabbath going to dawn, they came to the tomb, bringingthe spices which they had prepared,

And our last of four witnesses is...

Yohanan 20:1 But the first the Sabbath came Miryam Magdalaat dawn, being yet dimness, tothe remembrance and looked at the stone taken away from the remembrance.

Yohanan 20:19Accordingly the that one day nightfall, the first the Sabbath, and the portals were

closed where the learners were lead together, for fear the Yehudim, comes and stands into

the middle and relates Himself, Shalom to you.

This suggests again that it was the seventh day Sabbath at dawn and not full light of the sunhence "being yet dimness". Also that evening or nightfall that followed the daytime was still thesame Sabbath day.

In Nehemyah 13:19, where we see that the gates closing in evening as it says "as it began to bedarkbefore the Sabbath" but doesn't specifically state the Sabbath began at dark as this was aprecaution to stop this practice before it was Sabbath. Conceivably if the gates were opened allnight by morning the 'sellers' could have crept in while dark and would be ready to violate theSabbath by sunrise which would mean a confrontation on the Sabbath Day. So this was aproactive move of not waiting for the Sabbath but instead to handle it before. So that "began to

be dark BEFORE the Sabbath" could suggest that Sabbath would not have started at dark as ithad begun to be dark and was called as a time BEFORE the Sabbath. So it is still logically asunrise start to Sabbath in this Scripture, a day and night, sunrise to sunrise observance on thisDay.

Let's look at these Scriptures in a fuller context...

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    29/35

Nehemyah 13:15 In those days I saw in Yehudah those treading wine presses on the

Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, and figs, andall kinds of burdens, which they brought into Yerushalayim on the Sabbath day. So I

warned them on the day they sold food.

Nehemyah 13:16 And men of Tsor dwelt there, bringing in fish and all kinds of goods,

and soldthem on the Sabbath to the children of Yehudah, and in Yerushalayim.

Nehemyah 13:17 Then I contended with the nobles of Yehudah, and said to them, Whatevil matter is this that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?

Nehemyah 13:18 Did not your fathers do the same so that our Elohim brought all thisevil on us and on this city? Yet you bring added wrath on Yisral by profaning theSabbath.

We see then from verses 15 to 18 that they were profaning the Sabbath Day in thedaytime and then we see the increase their efforts in verses 19 to 21 as they now tried tosneak in at night ... the night before the Sabbath as it began to be dark.

Nehemyah 13:19 And it came to be, at the gates of Yerushalayim, as it began to be dark beforethe Sabbath, that I commanded the gates to be shut, and commanded that they should not beopened till after the Sabbath. And I stationed some of my servants at the gates, so that no

burdens would be brought in on the Sabbath day.

CLVNehemyah 13:19 And it comes to pass, when the gates of Jerusalem have been darkbefore the Sabbath, that I speak, and the doors are shut, and I say, that they do not open

them till after the sabbath; and of my servants I have stationed at the gates; there does not comein a burden on the Sabbath-day.

This Concordant Literal Version above suggests that it may have been dark when the gatesclosed as it translates it as "have been dark before the Sabbath". And word for word from theHebrew it is literally "hovering over before Sabbath". However, either way this does notdetermine the start of a day or a Sabbath but the logical time to close the gates BEFORE the lightof the Sabbath DAY begins.

Nehemyah 13:20 And the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares spent the nightoutside Yerushalayim once or twice,

Nehemyah 13:21 and I warned them, and said to them, Why do you spend the night

around the wall? If you do so again, I lay hands on you! From that timeon theycame no more on the Sabbath.

This night time must truly be beforethe Sabbath orif it not then Nehemyah planned

to break his Shabbath shalom by fighting with these men. This is highly unlikely that hehe would plan this contentious activity with the gates closed and guarded if he knew theSabbath had already commenced that evening.

Nehemyah 13:22 And I commanded the Lwites that they should cleanse themselves, and they should come, guarding the gates, to set apart the Sabbath day. Remember me,

O my Elohim, concerning this also, and pardon me according to the greatness of Yourkindness!

In verse 21 it states "they came no more on the Sabbath" referring to the time when theyprofaned the actual Sabbath daytime in verses 15-18 and including the attempt to violatethe Sabbath Day by entering the gates BEFORE the Sabbath as explained in verses 19-21.The message is to not allow any profaning of the Sabbath "Day", the full 'day and night'Day, which could certainly be from morning to morning throughout all these verses.

And, if necessary, guard the gates the night before so they do not awake on Sabbathmorning and have to deal with intruders on the Sabbath day. This could have been the

beginning of the "tradition" of guarding the Sabbath on the evening which developedinto what some think is a command to begin in the evening.

An interesting question to ask again is where is just one verse in ALL of Scripture thatspecifically commands (or even remotely shows or suggests) a sixth day evening

meeting, dinner, candles or any type of gathering before the seventh day Sabbath?None? Then how could it possibly be the start time for the weekly Sabbath if it is notever mentioned and then becomes clearly an addition to the Scriptures with a warningFIVE times not to add to the Word (Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32; Proverbs 30:5,6;Ecclesiastes 3:14, Revelation 22:18)?

The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread also helps us understand the Daysbegin in the light of morning ...

Exodus 12:6 And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then allthe assembly of the congregation of Yisral shall kill itbetween the evenings.Exodus 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted in fire with

unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.Exodus 12:10 And do not leave of it until morning, and what remains of it untilmorningyou are to burn with fire.Exodus 12:14 And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall observe it

as a festival to throughout your generations observe it as a festival, an everlastinglaw.Exodus 12:15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. Indeed on the first day youcause leaven to cease from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the firstday until the seventh day, that being shall be cut off from Yisral.Exodus 12:16 And on the first day is a set-apart gathering, and on the seventh day youhave a set-apart gathering. No work at all is done on them, only that which is eaten byevery being, that alone is prepared by you.

Exodus 12:17 And you shall guard theFestival ofUnleavened Bread, for on this sameday I brought your divisions out of the land of Mitsrayim. And you shall guard this daythroughout your generations, an everlasting law.Exodus 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in theevening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the monthin the evening.

Leviticus 23:5 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between

the evenings, is the Passover to .

Leviticus 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of this month is the Festival of

Unleavened Bread to seven days you eat unleavened bread.

Numbers 33:3 So they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth

day of the first month, on the morrow of the Passover the children of Yisralwent out with boldness before the eyes of all the Mitsrites,

Deuteronomy 16:6 But at the place where your Elohim chooses to make His Name

dwell, thereyou slaughter the Passover in the evening, at the goingdown ofthe sun, at the appointed time you came out of Mitsrayim.

Deuteronomy 16:7 And you shall roast and eat it in the place which your Elohimchooses, and in the morning you shall turn and go to your tents.

Yehoshua 5:10 And the children of Yisral camped in Gilgal, and performed thePassover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening on the desert plains of

Yeriho.Yehoshua 5:11 And they ate of the stored grain of the land on the morrow after thePassover, unleavened bread and roasted grain on this same day.

Acoording to all these verses above, the Passover celebration is to be all on the 14th daywith its preparation on the 14th day and at evening the commencement which is still the14th Day until all gone by morning which begins the 15th Day.

Similar to Yom Kippur, where the day is stated to be on the 10th day but commences onthe evening of the 9th. So is true of the Festival of Unleavened Bread which is stated to

begin on the 15th (Leviticus 23:6) but is from the evening of the 14th to the evening ofthe 21st day (Exodus 12:18). If Days truly began in the evening, it could just be stated as

the beginning of the 14th day and the beginning of the 10th Day for Yom Kippur insteadof specifying the evening of the Day before. Again, if all YaH's Days started at eveningwhy specify only these start times as evening other than as exceptions? Because this doesnot dictate when actual Days start but only when a Festival begins and ends. If we agreeto meet one day at noon this does commence our new Day but just the time of meeting.

    Part 5

The Scriptures seem to indicate that "light and day" are good and "dark and darkness" are not.So it again begs the question, "Would YHWH start His Days in the light or the dark?" Do HisDays go from "the light to the light" or from "the dark to the dark"? With Day also meaning thefull 'day and night' until the next "Day", as well as the daylight part, wouldn't that logically begin

the "Day"? Would He start our Days in the light as to first work followed by rest or begin indarkness in a state of rest and do our work in the second part of the Day? We see each week, asin His creation example, the first six Days are for work followed by the seventh Day of rest.

Work then rest - Day then night. His years begin with the light and light of days increasing andthe nights decreasing and then in the completion of a year return to that place to begin a new

year. The New Moon, which signals a new month, rises around the time of sunrise also. As Hisyears begin on or just after the equilux/equinox (Exodus 12:2, Deuteronomy 16:1) with lightincreasing so as His months begin with the minimum moon that rises with the sunrise andgrows more light as the month continues. It would follow that His order would have His Days

begin with the greater light, the morning sun light too which imitates the order of His years andHis months going from the beginning of light to the maximum light and decreasing back to startover.

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    32/35

Apparently to YHWH "the light" or day or daylight begins the Day instead of "the dark".

    More Scriptures to ponder...

Genesis 1:15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth. And it came to be so.

YHWH gives preference or priority to light.

2 Shemu'el 22:29 For You are mylamp, O , And makes my darkness light.

    Lamp ... darkness ... light.

2 Shemu'el 23:4 Who rules in the fear of Elohim, Is like the light of the morningwhen the sun rises, A morning without clouds, Tender grass from the earth From sunshine, from rain.

Ruling in the fear of Elohim is like the light of the morningwhen the sun rises.

Iyob 17:12 They would turn night into day, saying that light is near, in the presence of darkness!

Portraying night as day or saying light is near in the darkness is not a good thing.

Yeshayahu 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Awarning perhaps about reversing His order that would make us want to be sure of when His

    Days begin and end.

Mattithyahu 5:45 So that you become sons of your Father in the heavens. Because He makesHis sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on theunrighteous.

This says "He makes His sun rise" NOT sunset, indicating again that sun rise is the beginning ofHis Day.

Yohanan 1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Again light is preferred over darkness and the beginning of each new Day as light shines intothe darkness our Days begin.

Yohanan 3:19 And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men

loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked.

Is this the cause of the tradition of starting Days in the night or darkness?

Yohanan 8:12 Therefore spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. Hewho follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.

  • 7/29/2019 Day Begins Day

    33/35

ALight above all lights and defeats all darkness. Again we see light is greatly preferred overdarkness.

Yohanan 9:4 It is necessary for Me to work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day night is coming, when no one is able to work.

A message to work in the day first as was exampled by Elohim in Genesis 1 again this shows dayis first and followed by night is coming.

Yohanan 12:35 , therefore, said to them, Yet a little while the light is with you. Walkwhile you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. And he who walks in darkness does notknow where he is going.

Workin the light and now walkin the lightbefore darkness makes sense versus start in the

dark and then wait until light to work at the end of the Day.

Yohanan 12:46 I have come as a light into the world, so that no one who believes in Meshould stay in darkness.

Light came first, Elohim, and then darkness, Satan, and then the light of Messiah.

Act 2:15 For these men are not drunk, as you imagine, since it is onlythe third hourof the day.

The beginning of the Day is counted from the morning.

Romans 13:12 The night is far advanced, the day has come near. So let us put off the works ofdarkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

The night is almost over and the day is near and a new Day is beginning again.

1 Thessalonians 5:5For you are all sons of light and sons of the day.We are not of thenight nor of darkness.

Sons oflight and sons of the daybegin their days in the dayor night? In light or in darkness?

2 Kpha 1:19 And we have the prophetic word made more certain, which you do well to heed asa light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in

    your hearts,

The Daydawns in the morning both Spiritually and physically.

1 Yohanan 1:5 And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that

Elohim is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

The LIGHT created light first as He is Light and ONLY Light.

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it, forthe esteem ofElohim lightened it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

    34/35

Revelation 21:25 And its gates shall not be shut at all by day, for night shall not be there.

We see that in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning Elohim ..." or, "In the beginning Light", as He is

Light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 Yochanan 1:5) and in the end we read above inRevelation 21:23,25 that there is onlylight again forever. The esteem of Elohim lightened it inRevelation 21:23 and in Genesis 1:1. YHWH then goes from the light to the light in His creationof the earth and the new earth.

The Magi looked to the east (the rising of the light) where the sun rises to find the sign of theMessiah (Matt 2:1-9) and we are to look to the east or towards the sunrise for the Messiah'sreturn (Matt 24:27). The sunrise is connected with the Son rise as the Messiah was found firstfrom a sign from the light where the sun rises and is to return from the light where the sunrises.

    Again, from light to light.

Also, YHWH allows us to FIRST work six Days and commands a rest after on the seventh Day

(Exodus 20:8-11). He said we were to work the land FIRST for six years and then rest after forthe seventh year (Leviticus 25:1-7). And likewise as He is consistent in His order as He has uswork FIRST and then rest after in the latter part of the day. Would He have ordained us to restin the first part of a Day working against the flow of His own example of working in His creationand against His example of in the week and the years of working FIRST and resting after the

    work? No.

This perhaps is not a complete study, but is meant to look thoroughly on Scriptures to revealYHWH's will and truth. As in any subject, there is some interpretation and this is where perhapswe get our differences, however please read 2 Kepha 1:19-21 (written below). An attempt hasbeen made to look at the entire Scriptures for an overall context and not trying to prove ordisprove any of this by one or two verses. Unlike the example of the Day of Atonement,

which seems to explain "evening to evening" transcending over two Days, there is an absence inthe Word just stating "a Day starts and begins at sunset. We do instead have this example of amorning to morning order in The sun also rises, and the sun sets, and hurries back tothe place where it arose. (Ecclesiastes 1:5). If we seek all throughout the entire Scriptures wesee a pattern to the ordered sequence of how His other Days and Sabbaths align. It is logicallyreasoned that this Day of Atonement description in Leviticus 23:32 would only be necessary ifdays were naturally ordered otherwise, which aligns with His natural stated sequenced order of"day/morning before night/evening" in about 90% of the references in His Word about a "Day".

And we have the prophetic word made more certain, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place,

until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first,

that no prophecy of Scripture came to be of ones own interpretation, for prophecy never came by the desire of man,

but men of Elohim spoke, being moved by Ruach HaQodesh.2 Kpha 1:19-21
