Why lead with Ethics and Professionalism initiative?
1. Greater emphasis by accreditation bodies2. Impacts all college operations and all groups – students, staff,
faculty, alumni, and patients3. Is foundational – an antecedent – for all other initiatives 4. Professional ethics of dentistry being questioned in national media
Goals
- Increase awareness of ethics and professionalism throughout the college
- Develop and implement ethics and professionalism curricula- Establish and implement professionalism assessment guidelines- Create criteria for recognizing and rewarding outstanding
examples of ethics and professionalism
