  Chain-Reactioned Iraq

Dear Mrs. Applebaum

Have a pleasant time out there

I went thru your editorial regarding the " No  Magic Bullets for Iraq", it was very soothing for me to

read it , as an Iraqi citizen.. I ask of you to grant my

message a little consideration.

Unlike those paintings, most of which are usually

done using digital cameras and computer

techniques , where a portrait of a man or a womanis reshaped into plenty of multi-color square shapes

, those images that demand that you set your eyes

so remote from the paintings location , in order to

feel the anticipated effect and recognize whose

painting it is , quite on the contrary , Iraq's

dilemma , demands you to be centralized amidstthe Iraqi crater, right within the eye of the

hurricane, in order to deduce the right equation that

can set things back, for a better life that both USA

and Iraq can enjoy , if any reason is still available

in both countries.

The 11/9 acts were welcomed in most Arab

countries, on a Streetman's scale , as well as

Islamic communities worldwide , not for the mere

reason of "Terror-Supporting" nature , that was

made to frame these people and countries. Most

Arab and Muslim people used to regard the westerncivilized world, including the American culture ,

much like a better asylum to follow, compared to

the extreme dictatorship and torturing regimes of

their own, those regimes who have taken over their

countries leadership and fortunes, without referring

to any honest and legitimate elections or polling . If I were to speak of myself, to which I am most

bound to , since nobody is ever to substitute any

other person when it comes to mass-effects like the

ones we are talking about, having been taught for

so many decades to hate USA , due to its most

hideous crimes against Vietnam, Palestine,

Nicaragua, ….etc, forms one simple justificationfor the joy we felt when we witnessed those

colossal towers fall down into heaps of dust , as if

God Almighty had them to collapse, in vengeance

to all innocent souls that have been barbecued alive

under the flaming waves of the Napalm bombs in

Vietnam, or those who received the hideous deathfrom the effects of Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombs.

If the people of Japan were to pay for the crimes of

their leadership by that time, who is the people of

USA to be spared such a punishment ?? Aren't

people all alike , or am I wrong? Those who

suffered the extreme heat of the burning towers of

New York , before throwing themselves from atop

Page 3: Dear Lady

that rage, need not be treated that way, for as Quran

itself says, " Nobody is to pay for another man's

faults", this need be applied both ways, for how

could the American people disgrace it for 3500residents of those towers, while approving the

punishment of a whole Iraqi people , thru using

their country as a huge magnet to attract Al Qaida

there, for a perpetual duel , that could never be

made to spare Iraqi's lives? Much it is like using

some other country's territories as a dumping areafor nuclear waste.

Most Iraqi ex-officers and alike are regarded by US

army , thru the teachings of the new Iraqi

government godfathers, as actual Pro-Saddam

individuals , regardless of the very clear

understanding that when you live in Iraq at that

time , you are destined to obey and fulfill, withoutany chance of thinking it over, or discussing it why

or how come, like US children say! Now compared

to what we are reading and seeing right now, this is

the same with most US soldiers, do they know the

real reason why this war has been started, or why is

it going on till now, after having proved that nomass destruction weapons were ever to be found

there in Iraq, nor has been there any ties with Al

Qaida? two issues that were cleared by me

personally to US commanders , and to UN

investigators as back in history as 1996, but were

never taken into any serious consideration.

What can finish this ongoing blood-shedding , for

 both parties ?

Quite easy can be the answer, without any further

elaboration as to" Going Big".or "GoingWhatever". USA should be confessing that a huge

mistake has been committed, that Saddam Husain,

no matter how dictating his regime was, was the

most fitting solution for the Iraqis, not because

dictatorship is my favorite stuff, but because most

Iraqis are very much adhering in mentality to tribaland clanwise rituals , and do refuse any democracy

or libertarianism , they need a lot of time till they

can savor the delicacies of that type of rulership

pattern. You can't just replace the wooden windows

and doors of an existing old muddy hut , like is

most familiar in Iraqi villages, by a brand-new

Aluminum parts instead, it will appear sort of "ironic" , and sooner or later, the owners of that

muddy hut will revolt to the old wooden windows

and doors, the modernization & rennovation

brought by your government got the whole Iraqi

structure to look much like a freak!

To me, I believe that the people to which USA haschosen to take sides , are much worse than the

former regime. They are the major reason why the

new plot is never to live it up anymore. During

Saddam's reign, only those who would try to grab

the authority from him, would be prone to

imprisonment , torture, and execution. Right now,

killing and imprisonment is a very greedy monster

Page 5: Dear Lady

that hardly spares any Iraqi, if I were to enumerate

those around me who have been "touched " by the

new democracy, you will be very much astonished.

I am pretty certain.

One final word, I have coined the following

statements , to give a brief description of rather

some large issues:

Isn't it God Almighty himself who had given the catits wild nature? Isn't it true that the mouse is more

annoying and damaging to human kind than the cat

itself? If so is the case , then…

Why is it that people, especially little children , do

support Gerry in stead of Tom?I reckon that such

beliefs owe much of themselves to childhood’s

earliest teachingsSaddam was more like an insecticide for most

Iraqis , when he confronted the Iranian Shiite tide,

most Iraqis knew of any bad detail that he was

committing, but this is just the same thing about all

the regimes around us, Iraqis should have thought

of toppling Saddam if they ever had the power to, but this ambition rates to a future wish, it needed

the whole middle-east area to act the same. Iraqis

were very certain of how much they will be losing

to Iranians, once they topple Saddam, it all came to

a true proof now that Iraq has been lost to its

eternal foe.

I have come across several good US soldiers and

officers, Brendan Willits in Mosul and Captain

Cemenko in Balad area , to name a few. Such US

militaries proved to be the best that your countrycan offer to enhance its reputation in Iraq. Their

ethics and discipline made us believe that we can

be brothers and friends , if it were not for others

like the Abu Ghraib , Haditha and Mahmoudiya

criminals. Iraqis who fight against US Army here

have never come across Mr. Willits or Mr.Cemenko or people alike, all that they know is that

marine soldier who shoots at them , for no reason,

and the prison interrogators who scarred the Iraqi

 pride .

…….Did you manage to know of that family inside

a passenger car , which was flattened by a tracked

vehicle of yours, right atop the Saydiyah bridge ,south west Baghdad?

…… Did you have a glance of that student here in

Mosul , who had his skull partially removed off, by

your soldiers machine gun, for no reasonable

reason? I can send you his photo and his ID details.

……..Did you ever hear of the little child who wasleft inside his father's car for a while, in Abu

Ghraib local market , and had been squeezed to

death by an M114 vehicle, in a move that we have

seen a lot in most war movies , like "Apocalypse

 Now"??

I invite you all to admit the crimes that touched

almost all Iraqis , except those who reside within

Page 7: Dear Lady

the green Zone. The yield of the Saddam toppling

game is as great as this:

All Iraqis are prone to arresting, being shot, being

tortured, being kidnapped, being raped, no matter what their attitude towards any side is.

All Iraqi achievements , starting from early 20's of

that century till now, bridges, auto-roads, hospitals ,

schools, college labs, light poles , highway fences ,

…etc have been destroyed.

Most Iraqi ruins and historical sites have been"ruined" actually, if not robbed by all.

Most criminals who were depressed by the former

regime , were released to the streets, to initiate all

kinds of crimes, abductions , rapes , and even

serving the Syrian & Iranian agendas.

Electricity services deteriorating to the worst level,

all Iraqi people wish that Saddam can get back in away or another.

Fuel availability and prices , as well as quality have

deteriorated to an unbelievable datum.

Most policemen and army are composed of trash

collectors, garbage dealers, ghetto residents . This

is a natural consequence of excluding any ex-Baath party member, in a country that was ruled by Baath

party for 35 continuous years, a party who made

any well-cultured citizen to join the ruling party if

he were ever to propose for any state career or

position. The result of the new recruitment plan is

so many unbehaved soldiers and policemen , who

are willing to humiliate anyone on the street ,

Page 8: Dear Lady

busting him in front of his family for any cause ,

and it is very much known to people here how

these soldiers and policemen rob fuel supplies,

attack closed warehouses in the middle of the night, under curfew blanket , and assassin any fellow

policeman who is out of their tribe circle, Junkies

and drunken policemen rule the street, night and

day!! This is the USA gift to the Iraqi people,

democracy at its best .The most counter image for

you to help you best imagine what I am telling you, is imagining what can happen once trading your

current legislators and ministers with an equivalent

bunch from the alleys of Bronx!!

No one can expect any Arab or Muslim guy to fall

in love with USA after a whole life-time of

preaching against USA , if we were wrong to think

so , then blame it on Abu Ghraib and else if wewere to adhere to the old-time teachings. The

following scene has been implanted in my memory

ever since I was a little child , along with crystal

clear crispy image of the blood fountain erupting

from his skull ,the very next instance following this

very one .....

Page 9: Dear Lady

Still, I find it too hard to convince my mother notto shed her precious tears over US army casualties,

of US soldiers bodies having been blasted to

pieces close to our neighborhood . She was raised

on love , unlike what you may think. The same

tears I had seen that day when the late JFK was

assassinated long ago .I was a little child by then ,

but memories still linger on. And like JustinHayward sings: "And I thank heavens above , for

being raised on love", the same "love" that

Mohammad regards as "His Religion, His Boat"

Iraq has been unfairly chain-reactioned , because

some 50% of its population are back on the stage

Page 10: Dear Lady

seeking revenge for a historical event as old as

1350 years. Admitting some few thousands of

Iraqis into the USA is not a descent means of

mending the broken pottery of ancient Assyria, thechain-reaction that has been initiated here needs an

urgent treatment, likewise. Otherwise , I am afraid

that Iraq will be needing a chemo-therapy instead!

Warmest Regards

Abu Al Haq= Mr. Righteous ----Anonym…… according to common sense

 precautions!!
